Hopkins has the better resume and more legitimate title defenses, as interim and "Regular" titles are nonsense. GGG's first real defense came against Rosado, when he shed the "Regular" tag and became simply WBA champion.

But I think a lot of it was out of Golovkin's control. Hopkins found it easier to get fighters in the ring with him because he was a much bigger name than GGG and much less likely to knock your head into the third row. Never forget that Canelo dropped a belt to duck prime GGG and Daniel Geale dropped a belt to duck prime GGG.

Head to head? Pre-Jacobs GGG > Hopkins > post-Jacobs GGG

Head to head, best version of Golovkin vs best version of Hopkins, Golovkin wins. So Golovkin is better in the opinion of the Great Nash. Nash out.

People give Golovkin **** for not rematching Jacobs or Derev (but say nothing of Danny rematching Derev, Rosado or Sulecki or Derev rematching Culcay), I can only imagine how they'd react to rematching guys he clearly beat or stopped, like Hopkins did with Allen and Echols. His defenses should come with an asterisk with all those rematches, just like people do with G's WBA situation.

I think Hopkins would edge him in a UD maybe a SD, Bhop was a crafty fighter while GGG is an aggressive boxer-puncher, put it this way I would take Gennady to stop Jermaine Taylor, Joppy, Eastman, Allen, Oscar, and Trinidad under the same conditions, at MW I think GGG would go through Bhops resume like a dose of salts, all but Roy Jones.

                - - What grade was U in then?

Canelo found himself in dispute Sulieman mandating his purses while juggling a civil suit by his previous Mexican promoter who was claiming Oscar stole Canelo, all the while Canelo making himself as available as possible for the l'l floydy rematch, about 5x what Golovkin brings to the table.

It's almost like U was born yesterday. When the civil suit was settled, and Sulieman come crawling back to his cash cow, and l'l floydy wanting McG and Berto, only then did it make financial sense to fight Golovkin. And nobody cares about Geale but U.

Better resume at MW? That's crazy lol. Hopkins has a more legit defense record but the quality of his defenses was laughable.

Huh, what's silly about comparing two of the best MWs ever, and probably the two most notable ones of the last 25 years?
