I think OP's mean is out-boxer. He beat the crap out of Zab Judah after gets outboxed first two rounds. Fluidweather is very complete fighter. If he couldn't outbox his opponents, he outbrawled them. I laugh when people say Fluidweather was out-boxer. He was hell of a complete counter-puncher.

Well at elite level, I don't think fighters can just fight on the outside. Would you say that Andre Ward was a pure boxer?

I know what you mean, I just don't think there are many fighters who choose to just fight on the outside at elite level. And the best fighters, understand that they have to be multi-dimensional in their game.

In the heavyweight division you may see this, due to the era of the super heavyweights. When Super Heavyweights go through their careers, fighting mainly old school heavyweights in terms of physique, they pretty much always fight the big man fight.

So they pretty much get by on pure boxing. Wladimir Kiltschko did this during his reign, and so did Lennox Lewis under Emmanuel Steward.

The Welter Weight division, due to the dimensions of the fighters there. I think you are more likely to see a pure brawler at elite level, than a pure boxer.

Marcus Maidana, Ricky Hatton, these were pretty much pure inside fighting brawlers. Sometimes the word brawler gets used, to describe a fighter with low skill. But in my opinion, high level inside fighting is more sophisticated than pure boxing and sticking to the basic fundamentals.

I would have liked to see Floyd fight someone like Devon Alexander. A pure boxer with speed.

Not that I think Alexander would have had a chance against Floyd.

Floyd fought everyone who might of had a chance to beat him. I wish he would of been 5 years older to see him fight peak Delahoya, Mosely, Cotto, Winky……. I also would of loved to see what he would of done with men like peak Whitaker.
I believe Delahoya would of beat him at 140.

Floyd and Winky Wright was friends actually however Promotional Politics and Promoters EGO once again ruined what would've been a great fight. Gary Shaw wanted 50/50 for Winky, Bob gave him the runaround, Gary Shaw thought the entire time he was getting 50/50, Arum comes out and say he never agreed to 50/50 just went it looked as if the fight was happening and somehow it is Floyd who "Priced Himself Out"

Gary was difficult too though not just Bob, which explains why all of his fighters ultimately left him. Gary also ruined Winky Wright vs Oscar De La Hoya another fighter I regret not seeing. Winky was offered $6 Million plus some PPV %...Gary Felt Winky should get Tito Trinidad Money ($10-$15 Million despite Winky not being a major draw at the time) so it is not just as simple as "Floyd Ducked!" which is what some fans seems to be just obsessed with

Winky Wright? Are you guys high?

Floyd was at 135 while Wright was at 154. They weren't even close to the same size at the same time. Winky finished off at 175.

Weight and size don't come into it with Mayweather, a testament to how great he became is the criteria they hold him to, even while they hate on him with the most ridiculous comments they are really paying homage to him and they are too ****** to know it. 90% of these people know nothing about boxing they are just fans feeding seagulls.

                  - - I'm just recalling the first few days when l'l floydy couldn't or wouldn't answer his phone according to Arum. Don't even know if Arum would want to risk his star fighter against Wright, but l'l floydy calling out Winkster was his first foray into 154.

For the first time, I would genuinely feel bad for Floyd had he been forced to fight Paul Williams.

                      May was a pure boxer
PBF, however, was more of a puncher/boxer.

No one was going to outbox May !!!!
It would be pretty boring to see him vs guys like Winky.
May would force their hand at being the aggressor.
