    Floyd against pure boxers.

Floyd didn't fight many pure boxers in his career.

Who were some pure boxers he could have fought? And how would he have done against them?

I always thought that the Paul Williams that showed up to Magarito would have beaten Floyd.

Besides that, you'll have to list names because Floyd fought everybody that I can think of off the top of myhead during his time.

No idea what a pure boxer is.

Mayweather fought fighters with a high level of skill, maybe this is a pure boxer?

Was Oscar De La Hoya, not a pure boxer? Shane Mosley? Miguel Cotto? These guys could box etc.

At elite level, fighters I don't think can just be one thing. So maybe there will not be many pure boxers there.

But I still don't know entirely what you mean by a pure boxer.

        Yeah. I agree.

I think he means technical, high boxing IQ guys like Juan Manuel Marquez and Canelo though.

NOBODY was more Skilled than Floyd in his Prime and in his ERA...PERIOD!

          Get over it people Damn!

However, I wanted to see Floyd vs Winky Wright and maybe even Vernon Forrest, however those didn't happen because anybody was ducking. In Fact Mayweather vs Winky Wright was Negotiated by Bob Arum and Gary Shaw and Talks Broke Down unfortunately. I don't think ANY of these guys that some people like to run around and say "He Would've Beat Floyd" would've actually beat Floyd BUT Floyd vs Winky would've been an intriguing fight stylistically

            Diego Corrales
            Carlos Hernandez
            Jesus Chavez
            Jose Luis Castillo
            Jose Luis Castillo again
            DeMarcus Corley
            Arturo Gatti
            Sharmba Mitchell
            Zab Judah
            Carlos Baldomir
            Oscar De La Hoya
            Ricky Hatton
            Juan Manuel Marquez
            Shane Mosley
            Victor Ortiz
            Miguel Cotto
            Robert Guerrero
            Canelo Alvarez
            Marcos Maidana
            Marcos Maidana again
            Manny Pacquiao
            Andre Berto

Who else was he supposed to fight? The only names that ever get brought up are Margarito, Williams, or Khan and Floyd would've trashed all three of those guys.

Mayweather has fought many fighters with high technical ability, so if that is what the thread starter means? I don't agree with him saying, that Mayweather Junior has not fought many pure boxers.

It would be nice if the thread starter, explained a bit more what they class as a pure boxer.

I don't think Marquez or Alvarez are levels above Miguel Cotto in terms of technical ability. Did Cotto look confused and bewildered when he fought Alvarez? No.

Alvarez, Cotto, De La Hoya, Mosely, they are pretty much all in the same ability range.

Caleb Plant for example was not skill for skill out of place with Alvarez, but he was still sparked out 'It was not his level of skill that lost him the fight, it was his durability'.

Now when Mayweather fought Alvarez, from start to finish skill for skill 'Alvarez seemed out of place, completely shown a different level'.

So it would be nice if the thread starter, came back in here and explained what they mean?

Oscar and Shane were boxers, great boxers, especially Oscar. Cotto could box when he needed to, but he was more of a brawler.

A fighter who primarily fights on the outside and has high technical skills. You know, like Devon Alexander.
