Toney had good head and waist movement and was great at rolling punches. Fighters that actually took clean chin, tempo, and just straight face and head shots for years are fighters like Margarito, Andrade, Pavlik and more recently Golovkin. Those are the best chins I've seen.

Hes definitely right up there yeah. Unfortunately all those shots got to him over the longer term.

One of my favourite boxers ever. Skilled and fearless.

It also matters on how many KO artists did a guy face.

Yeah I agree Ali had a granite chin and proved it by taking flush bombs from some of the hardest punchers in history, Ali is always talked about as a great boxer but man oh man he was tough in the chin and the body. Thats one thing lots don't realise with fighters like Ali and even Floyd, is on top of the brilliant boxing their chins were granite and that combination made them nearly unbeatable.

Toney didn't really take shots flush, he was great at slipping and sliding his head taking a lot of power off the punch, Toney was a great MW and his boxing ability was much higher quality than the HWs of his day, his boxing ability is what carried him through the HWs, he became flat-footed and just slipped punches, his chin was good for sure but not like Ali who was was hit with some shots from Shavers that would drop a horse and Ali didn't blink, Foreman lifted Frazier of the canvas with an uppercut and Ali let big George punch himself out on his ribcage and then stopped him, the few times Ali was dropped look at how he gets up and shakes it off instantly.

                      - - Fast Fres wif one hand rolled him out the ring like a beer barrel. Damnedest thing I ever seen.

Roy and Rahman knocked him clear across the ring in slomo. 2nd damndest thing I ever seen.

My ol buddy Boozo would straighten up this crowd, but he in purgatory now.
