I believe Golovkin deep down, knows all of this. He is most likely is just trying to down play the challenge.

I think Alvarez vs Golovkin, is the only real rivalry within the middle weight division.

And the third fight needs to happen, so this rivalry can reach its conclusive ending.
If Canelo wins which he should do then it ends. If and that's a BIG IF GGG wins then it may never end because I doubt we will get a fourth fight. I thought GGG won the first 1 and gave the second fight to Canelo I could have even saw a draw if somebody was favoring GGG but historically it 0 - 1 - 1 in Canelos favor so GGG better have the fight of his life in the 3rd match or his career will be defined as the guy who Canelo kept beating.

On a side note I'm probably gonna drop money on Murata when him and GGG fight cause my gut tells me GGG could lose to him and spoil the trilogy fight.

Yes it will go to a fourth immediate fight, if Golovkin wins.

I wonder what weight the fight will be at? 168 or 175 pounds?

            Barely beat natural "welterweight" Brook.

Lil G's career is Canelo. He made millions $$$ thanks to Canelo. He will get his retirement payday in their third fight thanks to Canelo.
You obviously a inherited turd where you're brain should be so I'll correct you:

Dropped Jacobs leading to a 115-113 score
Dropped Derevyanchenko leading to a 114-113 score
Took 2 rounds to adjust to the natural speed advantage of Welterweight Brook before fracturing his eye socket
Defeated Canelo in the first fight
Canelo rematch was subjective although the majority of people (excluding Canelo cawk riders) think Gennady won

All of the above was achieved at 35+ years of age...

If GGG pulled off the win itd be cool to see the 4th fight at 175. Hell that would be 4 fights across 3 weight classes. I personally enjoy true rivalry fights. Ward and Gatti showed you can watch the same 2 guys battle and never get bored with it.

No one can think of anything else though. Not even his own fans talk about anything other than Canelo.

Those were two very good fights, very close. They both gave eachother a good 24 rounds. But that is what defines GGG’s career. To be fair, those two fights said a lot about Canelo too. I think those 24 rounds showed what both guys were made of. Both are obviously high level, elite, great fighters. No one can deny that.

All the negativity about those fights, some fans don’t admit that what both of them showed those two nights was how great they are. I have never seen a fighter take such punches from GGG and not even wobble. GGG got Canelo with some shots I would have never thought would land on Canelo due to his defense. And GGG’s face took a beating worse than almost any other high profile fight in the 2010s.

Even his record of 20 whatever defenses is overshadowed by his rivalry with Canelo. Mainly because in those defenses there was really no one of note aside from Jacobs, another very close fight.

I have no interest in a trilogy due to GGG’s age and his performance vs Derevyanchenko showed me that GGG is done at the top level. But if the fight must happen, it’s good that he is picking up a TKO win over Murata first, to sell the fight a little bit. Although I think GGG should have gone up to 168 and fight a top 10 guy up there to make the fight more intriguing. But that’s just not GGG’s M.O.

By far and away those two fights are the most defining of GGG's career. Even after 3rd fight if it happens. The original fight and re-match were in a better time for both fighters. He will never change that. Kind of a sad truth.
