Guess it's a good thing Oscar and Floyd rematch at 147 never happened.
Timing and accuracy sat JMM, it don't take power to put someone on their ass, look how many get sat from a jab, only got to catch them off balance from an unseen shot and they down thinking wtf.

What you don't realise is just how badly weakened ODH was in that fight, run the details through your brain, had not made 147 for near 12 yrs, he was a LW the last time he was in a ring on fight night weighing 146, on this night he was 145 at the weighing and 147 in the ring, Manny outweighed him which was insane. take a close look at 3 fights , Steve Forbes 150, Floyd at 154, and the 145 version with Manny.

I know a lot of people say De La Hoya was done, yet he did fight Floyd to a SD(some even say he should've won), and dominated Forbes at 150lbs(De La Hoya was trying to get ready for that rematch against Floyd at 147) so I think he would've been able to beat that Marquez that showed up against Floyd(and maybe even Hulk Marquez).

De La Hoya's left hook would've dropped Marquez and there'd be a minimum of at least one knock down(if not more).

After Marquez's fight with Floyd, Marquez got dropped by a lesser hook in Katsidis. Heck, even Hulk Marquez did the backstroke from a pillow fisted Timmy hook.

Would've been a fun fight, but I think even that De La Hoya beats Marquez.
      - - l'l floydy crack daddy say Oscar won. PreBALCO Juan out of his depth.

JMM would give Oscar some early troubles but ultimately ODLH’s consistent jab and size advantage would give him the edge.
JMM wouldn’t have the power to keep him honest the whole fight and his counterpunching wouldn’t be enough to take rounds.

De La Hoya was absolutely weight drained and shot when he fought Pacquiao. Marquez that Floyd beat wasn’t the best version of Juan but still would handle that version of Oscar handily IMO.

The DLH* Pac beat would have been KTFO by shot Rios.
Not a W worth bragging about.

Oscar beats the brakes off Marquez. Marquez isn't that good of a welterweight and Oscar being a dead man walking is every Floyd Boys stock excuse

Yikes what a comparison! A drained and old DLH or a Fat Marquez?

Juan decisions him. Even that version of Marquez takes it imo.

May has more skill than JMM and Pac. Yeah, so. Why keep bragging about it? Lol. No one cares.

The rivalry between Juan and Manny can go either way depending on who you are a greater fan of or just like their different style. But in their case it was heads up ALL fights. No argument if you say JMM is a greater fighter but resume wise, no.
