Rivalries are a form of grudge matches or a battle of guys from the same town or bragging rights.
They may not have even known each other prior to the fight.

It was definitely a rivalry. 100% a rivalry, I have zero idea why you would disagree.

Mike Tyson was extremely motivated for that fight. It was not about titles, it was just about beating the other guy up.
