Damn. Joe Smith Jr is going to dent Beterbiev. Bad matchup.

      Haters just love them boogeymen
If Nelo beats Biv, Biv will be too inexperienced
If Nelo then goes on to beat Beter, Beter was too old

Nelo is doing everything GGG didn't have the nuts to do

Assuming Bivol doesnt become a cherrypick gone wrong that is.
You picked Bivol to win last year.
        .
How can it be a cherry pick?

Anyone who's had their jaw broken already, most likely won't be able to take Beterbiev's punches for 12 rounds, at least not without sustaining major damage.

No Bivol is too much for ginger to chew on. He will win but it will be an ugly robbery, after that the roided dwarf will go down to 168 and fight a Sister or Rhyder/ ol' G.

Joe Smith Jr is all wrong for him. He will put Beterbiev down.it's going to be a surprising outcome when the bully gets bullied.
              Yup, tuff fight for Beterbiev.

I'm not sold on any of these boogeymen having enough experience to beat Nelo.
They seem to only have 1 gear vs very limited opposition.

That wee Ginger made a mockery of GGG just by testing these waters. Win or lose.
Like I said, if only he had GGG's resume
It's like he fought Le Meh 20 times in a row

Beterbiev is 37 and inactive. He has always been there to be hit. He has never faced a puncher like Joe. Joe will hit him good. many times. he can go the distance too.

Joe also has an iron chin.

Beterbiev fought twice last year, so that isnt inactive. Every guy they hyped as being the guy to end beterbiev has been stopped.

I wouldnt make a big deal of the marcus cut either, it was a close inside shot, a right hook just like a close inside hook that lennox landed on vitali, when the punch comes in a more parallel angle to the skin like that and partially grazes it, it drags along the skin and can rip it open. It can happen but he doesnt have a history of big cuts every fight. If anything he kept his composure and didnt panic and fought through it

Both of these guys are real men and serious fighters, and I like them both so much. I will not be disappointed at all with whatever the outcome is. But a ton of the Joe Smith talk kind of ignores he has not looked great in either of his last two fights. Steve Geffrard is a "B" level fighter if you are being charitable, and Smith did not dominate him at all. I love me some Blue Collar Joe, but I think most honest boxing fans will admit that Maxim Vlasov did enough to get the decision over him. It was not a robbery, it was a close fight. But Vlasov should have won and he is not elite either. The knock on Beterbiev being inactive is 100% legit, but for those keeping score Smith has only fought once a year over the pandemic era himself so it is not like he has a huge advantage. Besides, at Beterbiev's age and the way he fights, it may be to his advantage to just focus on the big fights like this as opposed to putting extra mileage on his body.

I think Joe has got better overall skills and is an underrated puncher at this level. But Beterbiev has yet to be really hurt, basically made of granite and happily willing to trade to get his harder, more accurate blows in. While Smith has better defensive abilities to be sure, I actually think Beterbiev has a better command of the ring and effectively moves his opponent to where he wants him as fights carry on and he figures his opponent out. This negates a ton of the early rounds Beterbiev tends to lose. This is a FANTASTIC war a couple years in the making. Both are as healthy as they have been in their careers, and Beterbiev sure cannot use inactivity as an excuse as he has fought recently. I got Beterbiev by KO. But I will grin and be glued this whole fight when it happens and be completely all in on whoever wins being great for the sport.

If Joe Smith beats Beterbiev then that would by definition make Smith the better fighter. It couldnt possibly be a cherry pick.
