Sr was a hell of a padder, that's for sure. You have to go 50 fights into his resume before you recognize a name

Canelo passes JCC Sr in accolades sure. But JCC will always be more loved and held to a higher status regardless of what Saul does. Imo. JCC Sr praises what Saul has done so far and wishes he was his son LOL!

That last second stoppage of JCC/M Taylor first thing I think of when I think of JCC!

On a purely emotional level, Sr may never be taken over.
If an unbiased fight fan were to look at their biggest W's.....

Canelo’s passed him in cheddar but he will never be the household name Chavez Sr was. Boxing was bigger then and it meant more. The big stage then was another level. The whole world would stop just to watch a big fight.

Honest, eloquent, simple, and of there is a truth in boxing, this is as close as it gets. Well said.

                  Thanks

Problem is, boxing has fan who are too loyal to their hero to be unbiased.

Boxing fans have no problem judging someone else's resume but when it comes to their guy.......

                      Sr -
                      Haugen
                      Camacho
                      Rosario
                      Rog
                      Taylor ?

                      Nelo -
                      Cotto
                      Trout
                      Lara
                      L Smith
                      GGG rematch
                      Jacobs
                      Kov
                      C Smith
                      BHS
                      Plant
                      Kirkland ?

IMHO, Sr would not fair well if he fought this level of opponents.
Nelo would bully guys like Camacho (Cotto), Haugen (Kirkland), Rosario (Trout), etc
