He beat Collazo for the WBA and according to Floyd gave im his toughest ever fight for 6 rounds in his other fight at 147 - its not his best weight but that aint horrible.

Ricky said recently that he new that he had ''left his best work in the gym'' which is why he fought in the manner that he did and I beleive him to a certain extent. I was hearing rumours from Vegas 2 weeks before the fight that he was been handled by his sparring partners...

Fight night; The minute I heard british TV report that Floyd Snr was late into the dressing room and only turned up when Ricky was having his hands rapped I new he was in big trouble. I then see him opt to come out to the ring first, even though as the Champ he should have come out 2nd and I scratched my head. I then for the first time (and I have followed Ricky's entire career, and he has always cut an intimidating and commanding figure) look nervous and not look Pac in the eye for the instructions and I new he was finished.

Now to the fight, Ricky showed little to no regard for Pac's power. He ran in with his hands by his waiste with no head movement, by doing this he added to Pacs power. Ricky was of the opinion that he could bullrush ''little'' Manny and take him out early along the ropes - big mistake. Ricky's chin is far from what it was, but I dont believe that it's completley finnished.

He was also completley unprepared to face a southpaw, which is evidenced as Mayweather Snr REFUSED to do southpaw pads in training for whatever reason.

I still stand by my opinion before and after the fight. Prime Hatton would have destroyed Manny at 140lb. He's still a good fighter, but Ricky at his best was a beast. He has lost his youthfull vibrancy, he cant punch straight anymore with his left hand (due to a problem with his arm), and he isnt as strong as he was back in the day. Call me ******, but with the few shots he landed on Pac shook him - I just wish the fight went a few more rounds as although Pac cleaned his clock I still have some questions that I wanted to see answered - perhaps Cotto will actually ask them.

Having said all that, i'm not trying to take away from Manny's tremendous performance. How he brought his strength and punch all the way up god only knows - he is a monster.

Hatton expected to walk through the punches, but Pac was too fast meaning a lot of punches thrown and landed and too powerful meaning they fcukin hurt.

Great post from someone who has watched all Hatton's fights, instead of basing their opinions on his career from Mayweather onwards. He gets called glass chinned, yet he was only down once in his first 43 fights to Magee, and it took a **** load of flush punches from Mayweather before he was worn down.

He just wasn't the same fighter against Pac, there's no doubting Pac was awesome that night though and the Cotto fight should be great.
