GGG really did have his spirit taken.

The guy was predicted to KO Canelo quickly in that first fight. Instead he couldn’t even drop him and got a draw. Canelo ended up being way tougher than GGG, GGG fans and the media thought. That left a lot of people sour that Canelo could take GGG’s best punches and not even buckle.

You all had to really cling on the fact that these two very good fighters fought 24 good rounds and they were basically 50-50. Can’t admit it but that’s what their fights were. They really were 50-50, they couldn’t hurt eachother, they couldn’t dominate. Instead of admitting this, let’s call it a robbery.

This guy went from having threads that he is better than Hagler, Monzon, Hopkins, Jones and could destroy Ward, Kessler, Froch at 168, to having two close fights with a former welterweight. It doesn’t fit the narrative the fans and media made up.

GGG was a very good fighter, but a former welterweight with little amateur experience was just as good as him when they fought. Truth hurts. The 400 amateur fights Canelo was missing, and the inexperience at MW, didn’t matter. He still matched GGG. Lil Canelo matched the big bad wolf of 160 and some fans can’t admit that.

All those “TKO6” predictions looked ****** as hell afterward. No one was predicting any type of stoppage for GGG for the rematch. They knew better than to look ****** again.

I'm sorry but those two paragraphs are absolute trash. Canelo was a welterweight when he was what 15 years old? Literally means nothing in the context that you're trying to put across. As we know Canelo was only a young boy when he started his pro career - he was 15 years old and was not a full set man yet hence weighing in or around 147. I'm nearly 100% certain 15 year old Golovkin would've weighed in or around the welterweight limit as well. I've seen footage of him sparring as a 15 year old amateur and he looked very small but he obviously started his professional career much later as a middleweight after winning medals in the world championship and Olympics.

At this point Canelo won't go down to middleweight and GGG is past it, I honestly do not wish to see this fight. Canelo being in his prime would make quick work of Kazakh thunder and it would be painful to watch. Of course Golovkin will say he can stop Canelo but we all know GGG would be doing it for the money.

When was the last time Canelo made quick work on anybody apart from Yildrim, genuine question?

Even though I had GGG winning first and getting a draw in the second. I was highly disappointed how he didn't press Canelo in the first when he was laying on the ropes gassing, also the fact he threw zero body punches. After eating right hands like the terminator I don't wanna hear excuse of counter punches....

In two fights Golovkin beat Canelo clearly at least once. Canelo didn't beat Golovkin clearly in neither, he literally won because the fight was in Vegas.

Also its funny how when not slurping on Canelo's dong his groupies like to make up things. Since when did boxing on the back foot effectively while circling your opponent mean you're getting "backed up the whole fight"? Absolute shower of brainless phags.

And fighting off the back foot is good if your landing the cleaner shots but that’s not what happened in the rematch. Canelo stood in the middle of the ring and waited for the exchange while GGG tried to stay on the outside. After the fight GGG looked like he went through a meat grinder while Canelo looked like he was ready for a photo shoot.
Cry all you want but it won’t change the fact that Canelo owns GGG’s legacy, MW titles, and 0 for the rest of time.

My prediction is not based on the past opponents, I am not looking at boxrec. It's based on the decline of GGG and Canelo's improvements along with the higher weight in which the fight would take place. GGG moving up in weight at this age (40 in a couple months), won't help him as it has helped Canelo and canelo is in his prime at this moment.

So my prediction stands, Canelo would win by early TKO if they fight one more time.

That might not answer your question directly, but it will make you understand my prediction.

I am not downplaying Canelo. You all downplayed him in the first fight. Go back to the build up threads of the first fight. GGG fans and the media were celebrating a KO for GGG before the fight even took place. It was a foregone conclusion. Canelo was going to lose by TKO in 4-6 rounds. The first odds numbers for GGG vs Canelo had GGG as a massive -350 favorite. Everyone was predicting a TKO by GGG.

But yeah sure, I am the one downplaying Canelo now. It wasn’t Canelo’s critics.

The writing was on the wall with the Kell Brook fight though. Kell Brook, a literal welterweight, did fairly well vs GGG. He was pegged to go maybe 3 rounds. GGG understandably opened up with an enormous -800 odds to beat Brook. Nobody envisioned a welterweight putting up a good fight vs GGG, let alone get stopped while still on his feet and egging GGG on to keep coming at the time his corner threw in the towel.

Jacobs further showed GGG was really not as good as Hagler, Monzon, Hopkins, or Jones like his fans were proclaiming. A lot of fans and ringside reporters had Jacobs edging GGG.

Still, the Brook and Jacobs fights were still not enough for Canelo critics to give him a chance vs GGG, as they predicted he would be stopped within 6 rounds. But again, another former welterweight, who had a fraction of the amateur experience as GGG, and had only 1 fight at 160 (164lbs vs Chavez Jr), managed to match GGG to a draw.

Ever since that night, you guys have not been able to admit that Canelo was way better than you predicted and in reality, he was just as good as GGG in the 24 rounds they fought. It’s so hard for you guys to admit that Canelo matched everything GGG brought. Call it robberies all you want, decades from now fans will watch the 24 rounds in awe of how well matched they were.

This is so nonsensical its actually funny - dude he got stopped AND his corner threw the towel in AND he suffered a broken eye socket. Egging him on meant absolute zilch - he knew it, Golovkin knew it and millions of spectators all around the world knew it. He was literally saved to fight another day as that fight was heading into deep waters.

Wasn’t about a P4P ranking. Everyone was saying GGG would walk through Canelo. Get him on the ropes and knock him out. A lot of money in Vegas was on the fight lasting less than 6 rounds before the first fight.
And maybe you don’t know this but fights are scored by round not accumulated stats.
Before the rematch GGG was talking about Mexican style and that he’ll see him in the middle of the ring and that Canelo would never fight him toe to toe etc..
Then the fight starts and Canelo is waiting for him while GGG is content to dance around throwing short jabs while getting landed on by the cleaner, harder shots. He looked like a guy content to make it past round 12 so he could cry robbery (which he and his groupies have been doing.)
Was an embarrassment and why GGG went into hiding and hasn’t been relevant since.
Now Borat wants that retirement check.

Oh... so that would be the reason why throughout 12 rounds Golovkin's back never touched the ropes once but Canelo's did twice.

He backed up many many….many times. Sure never touched the ropes, whatever, didn’t have to see he was backing up.

I thought ggg deserved decision in both fights at time.But if i watched 2nd fight again it's not surprise me if I change mind, so 1 win each
