but over and above that - I don't get this ignoring title fights where there is an 'unknown' opponent - shout out to Julius Indongo, Jeff Horn, Kombosos and now Jai O. - there's a tip for Tata -stick to Aussie underdogsLast edited by SteveM; 07-03-2022, 05:19 PM.Comment

This fight should have been in - posters here including Koba saw it as being competitive, me too - not because I knew about Jai but cos in my book anytime a fighter is past 35 years old they are upset waiting to happen
the rules state "In terms of fight selection ..... we're looking ..... ) with a focus on title fights and those fights marked at least 4 stars per Boxrec or unless we see overwhelming player interest.
this was a title fight and according to BoxRec a 5* fight.
the fact few have seen Jai fight - not sure hat is relevant as there's highlights to be found on YT.
consistency would be a good thing going forwardComment

Duly noted. Probably I should have just pulled rank on this one, but ever since I took over the running of this thing I've tried to keep it as much as possible a communal effort and to follow the wishes of the players and I think maybe sometimes I err too far that way. Despite Jai's relative inexperience and lowly ranking it was an absolutely legitimate title fight for a full champion and #1 in his division.Comment

After we get Ioka vs Nietes out of the way next Wednesday, we have Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna for the weekend, then another title fight in Asia on Wednesday (July 20): Knockout CP Freshmart vs. Wanheng Menayothin.
Let's not forget Isaac Dogboe vs Joet Gonzalez on July 23, that should be a great fight.Last edited by Tatabanya; 07-10-2022, 08:42 AM.Comment
