I know he's been on a steady diet of Aus level sluggers but he actually looks pretty damn tidy and barely dropped a round in his pro career (as you'd expect from a world level junior ammy). He's also quite quick for a big boy....
Pass. Interesting fight but the IBF mando is nowhere near top ten despite his amateur pedigree.

Hmmm. OK. Odds opened with Jai at around +330 but have closed down to around +200 with Breidis hovering around -260 or so. Not by itself a reason to have the fight in but indicative the bookies also ain't seeing this one as a total mismatch...

That said we got 2 of the CREW already leaning against which is significant. I'll wait another few hours and see what other opinions come in but right now we're leaning more towards not having it on the Pick Em.

I'm cool either way... off with the hippies this weekend in the National Forest and the signals gonna be ropey as hell so I'm almost certainly not gonna be watching it live but I still look forward to see how the Aussie wunderkind stacks up against Breidis... actually kinda rooting for the upset here, be nice to see some more new blood in the division.

I say let's have the breidis fight. I had lemieux with zero chance against Jose but we still included it. Plus Ennis is whooping anyone who isn't bud, Spence or Ortiz but we still include his fights

I vote no based purely on the fact that hardly anyone has seen jai fight , which wasnt the case for benavidez lemiux and ennis fight.

Okay gentlemen, gotta make the call.... I think it's an intriguing fight and I look forward to seeing how Jai does with such a massive step up, but we just haven't got sufficient player /Crew support this time. So no pick em this weekend.

We'll be back next week with Madrimov vs Soro and Magsayo vs Vargas on the 9th and Ioka vs Nietes from Japan on the 13th

The intrigue lies in the combination of Opetaia being young, unbeaten and fighting at home, and Briedis having acted like an idiot with that Super Mario attire, which makes me question his current desire as opposed to making a lot of money the easier way.

Following logic, I'd have picked Briedis KO late. But I will seriously consider the upset for my next betting failures

Meh. Briedis did give Usyk a tough time a while ago, but he's 37 now. And this Opetaia kid is virtually unknown.
