This guy Thurman makes me cringe with his words. He thinks he’s all witty and sht using all these rhetorics.

He truly is ignorant. Half the time he is not using the words he is attempting to correctly. Listen real close and when he uses a big word you may not be familiar with quickly look it up. You’ll then catch onto his game. Fake it till you make it.

It's a good thing that the PBC doesn't give guarantees to fighters like these or else they will take major Ls on these type of pay per view fights. I am not saying that these fighters don't get guarantees but it's at a very basic and low minimum. The rest of the money has to come from the percentages of the fight's gross; Through its ticket sales and pay per view buys. If this fight tanks which it will then Thurman won't make a lot of money from it.

We never got the numbers for the Ortiz-Martin PPV and we’ll never get any numbers for this PPV either because BoxingScene is afraid of publishing anything that might make Haymon look bad.

I haven't really seen the numbers to any ppv in a long time except for canelo and fury wilder .

It must be a sad day in boxing, when a real elite boxer who has poured blood and tears into this sport is highly criticized for his event. Look at the undercard like he says. It’s a great fights card. But some not boxing fans dishing out $$ to see a youtube doing mockery of the sport and everyone praises him. WTF is going on with our fke world here? If you are a true boxing fan, you know what Im saying. Tank vs Barrios was huge and on PPV with an undercard that wasn’t that great, Thurman vs Barrios is to expensive, but you have 2 former world
champs in the undercard? Go figure!

I get he has to go out there and defend the price point and the fact it's on PPV but it's still pretty cringe-worthy. The main event is neither relevant nor compelling.

Keith wants to break out economic principles on us to validate the price point. Perhaps he should talk about depreciation and diminished value. Keith is an example of depreciation and Barrios is an example of diminished value. Yet I'm supposed to shell out $75 to watch these two less valuable goods in the ring. Get outta here Keith.

1 ) So, we're getting to the point where people can't afford to watch a fight on TV? I mean, we're long past the point where going to the arena for a big show was generally affordable. But now we're being priced out of TV? T-freaking-V?

This shows a few things wrong with Boxing. 1) Yes, this is a high priced all things considered. This is the type of price everyone's been used to paying for the Mayweathers/DLH/Cotto/Mosley/Pacquiao/Tyson/Lewis/Hopkins era of mega PPV fights. So when fans see that PPV price, they're expecting a Canelo like main event...2) However with a lot of those, you didn't get stacked cards...3) The point he is trying to make has some validity as pricing for many many things have gone up over the past year+ 4) He's defending the price because he has to...he doesn't make the price...he doesn't make the cards...he doesn't start the purse bids, etc...he just looks for a decent fight that he is expected to win vs someone with a name or at least someone that will provide some drama to help it be a decent fight and make him look good for bigger fights...there is no vested interest in him discouraging people from buying the card.
