Plant’s punching power gives every and anybody a chance ( Paulie Malignagi of the super middle weight). So I don’t see him risking such a beating against David. Plant is trying to maximize his money and minimize his risk. Now that he has no belt that’s gonna be hard and it’s all down hill from here.

      Right.
I wouldn't necessarily say it's all downhill. He has a couple fights in the division but I reckon it definitely would be downhill vs Benavidez.
Benavidez is just too relentless and savage. Plant's mannerisms show he sees something in Benavidez that he wants no part of IMHO.

Doesn’t Benavidez already have a fight on the books? I thought he’s fighting the Canadian dude. So what they’re supposed to just scrap that fight?

Apparently you didn't read the WHOLE post, lol.

But if that is the case, Benavidez vs Plant should happen AFTER should the case be Benavidez fighting Lemiuex.

I'd favor Benavidez for sure but I think Plant is capable of putting together a good gameplan and executing it like Gavril did against DB in the first fight. that's definitely the fight I'd look to if I was him. The lack of power is one thing...but it's also that Plant is just not throwing his right hand all that much, it's been a trend going for a cpl fights now....he has lulls in fights and gets tired so that is probably where it would unravel but I wouldn't be suprised if he's up on the cards at that point.
DB is still doing similar things just squaring up and trying to walk in. When he gets inside is where he becomes DB, taking angles, stepping off, fast, two handed combos, fluid, I love to watch it. But when he's trying to get it it doesn't always look as good

Why would you think Plant is shying away from Benavidez? It was Benavidez team that turned down the unification when he was champion. It wasn’t until after he lost his title that he ever mentioned Plants name. And by that time Plant was on the fast track to landing the Canelo fight. Plants confirmed it all in numerous videos and I’ve never heard Benavidez deny it.

                Very well said.
I like this matchup and got it a close fight, but I think DB's grit and dog will really take a toll on Plant.
That's why I feel Plant doesn't want to fight David anytime soon.

                  Benavidez is Andrade 2.0

Canelo fight with millions attached or will continue bum slaying, while mentioning Canelo in all his interviews

Morell also would be a great match for both, but there is A LOT more history between Plant and Videz.
I dig what you're saying, I prefer a more equal match up. Two young guns, shooting for a shot a the cash cow. Be safe

Yes, I think he's scheduled to fight lemiux. They can try to put David Morell jr vs plant together.
