Callum Smith did the same thing. Even GGG had a longer reach than Canelo. All these bigger, more powerful guys, with longer reaches, fighting someone with slow feet who has to cut the distance to get inside, but instead of throwing hard full power combinations into the space Canelo has to come into, they just slowly paw over his head, miss constantly, then hang out at his range for his counters. It doesn't feel believable anymore.
Canelo actually has a slighter longer reach than Golovkin.

I couldn't watch the whole fight but one thing I gotta say, I don't like the idea of Canelo fighting Makabu at all.

The guy looked very bad last night, I had previously seen him fight against Papin and Kudryashov and those fights were so much better than this one.

I predicted Canelo would fight Charlo for May right after he beat Plant and then I got shocked when Reynoso requested this CW fight, so I don't know who Canelo is gonna fight in May but one thing I'm 100% sure, I'm crossing my fingers he fights Charlo and if the Bivol fight presents itself I'll be happy as well.

Now, after last night poor performance I highly doubt Reynoso picks Makabu to fight in May.

200 pound Makabu, flawed as he may be, steamrolls Andrade, Charlo and Benevidez.

Anyone who would pay for a makabu vs Canelo ppv is the definition of a fool, anything outside of over the air television with sponsors up the wazoo would be an insult to legit boxing fans. Makabu gets starched by most of his own division from what we saw last night. Dude has no answer for the check hook, the overhand right, his right rib cage might as well have a flashing sign that says “free points” he barely sees the left coming in with the way the way he Honds his hands while trying to get into position. Dude, honestly, anyone around 175lbs should be licking their chops, this dude is “man down” waiting to happen, hell he has no foot balance, leans over his lead leg ridiculously. How anyone in their right mind would pay for this fight is beyond me…even the most diehard fan would struggle to show me how this would be anything of a challenge and anything other than buying a belt.

Dude, not a chance, he doesn’t pull his hands back fast enough, all three piece him the hell up off the jab alone…not even gonna waste much time arguing this…he telegraphs like a mother…

I agree. Anyone who cared to watch any of his fights knows the farce that it would be when he was suggested as an opponent for Canelo, cruiserweight or not. Glaringly obvious Reynoso saw what we all did and is simply cherry picking a belt off of the easiest champ at cruiser. The guy just sucks ass no matter how you try and slice it,hell even a 40yr old GGG would be a far better opponent than Makabu. I'm still of the belief that the cruiserweight limit will "conveniently" get dropped back to 190 if this fight ever materializes as well.

No chance in hell man. Both Andrade and Charlo box his ears off and Ben(possibly Mall as well) stops him fairly easily.

This guy is terrible. How he even hold a belt is mind boggling. The CW division really must be that weak. It's no wonder Clenelo is avoiding the top guys at Super middle and light heavyweight
He's literally undisputed Champion at Super Middleweight.
