    • Russell probably could've gotten the decision if Haymon wanted it that way but protecting Tank Davis was a higher priority and that's why they allowed a non-black B-side fighter to get the decision on a PBC card. PBC's been wanting to get Russell out of the way for a while.

      • One can stick a fork in Gary Russell, Jr because he is done, So retire already you bum! You can't play boxing by being just a part-time fighter by fighting only once a year and still expect to keep that same explosive edge. I thought both his performance and excuses tonight were shameful. Just give Magsayo his credit and due. You lost to the better, younger and fresher man tonight that's all.

Also, congratulations to Mark Magsayo on his spirited effort and victory, He was clearly the man who wanted it the most tonight and it showed as he succeeded. Therefore, I tip my hat to him. Moreover, Father time has finally caught up to Gary Russell, Jr. He looked fat, old, tired and slow in there tonight against Magsayo. In addition, he had no punch volume, speed, precision, accuracy or timing on his punches.

There's no way that fight should have been scored as close as it was.

Don't get me wrong GRJ lost fair and square but Bernstein and Mauro sure sounded like they wanted GRJ out of here. Unlike Loma vs Teo, the media and a large portion of boxing fans won't be stomping for a rematch. Just like Rigo, they all want GRJ to just fade away now. Sad but it is what it is.

We gotta hold the fort till 2024 when Russell returns for his tuneup and then the rematch.

What would ever compel you to call another man who puts his health and life on the line each time he steps into a ring (fight or sparring) a “bum?” I mean truly, does he bother that much emotionally to call this man a bum? I don’t get it. Is it because you’re anonymous and can do so from a keyboard within the comfy confines of your home, without ever having to or ever would say it squarely to the individual’s face?

I don’t get the hatred, cowardice, vitriol and anger from some people.

Only and only when they don’t make crazy cash for a fight
