Indeed. He was the Chris Byrd of his era with a better chin. And that guy acting like Jimmy young was some bum..
Young is criminally underated might be the best of the best era... Forget the bad judges and he beat them all... Young is the Charley Burley of the heavyweight division. Never wasted energy, outboxed all the sluggers and outboxed an admittedly older Ali.
Well after I am pushing up daisies I can forsee a time when people actually watch Young on tape and realize that this guy was one of the very best.Comment

I love Bruno. Great contender, one of the great characters in the long history too. Consummate professional, and in strictly practical terms, one of the best of his era and one of the best the UK has ever produced. But if I were to pull the name of an excellent, modern Heavyweight out of a hat who was all wrong to put in against Foreman, it might be Bruno. One right hand would come within the first 4 rounds and we'd all be making our way to our cars. I just didn't see it going any other way. George tipped the scales in shape at 220-235 in his prime because he was narrow in the hip. If he had the big ass of an NFL lineman he'd have weighed a solid 290. Watch his fight against Briggs as cuddly bear George, and tell us who's the bigger guy.Comment

Its forgivable... Many people talk about Young who have not watched much, or any of his fights. The Foreman fight... an incredible fight, so was the Norton fight.Comment

Its also about the size of hands, shoulders... the size of a person's head, etc. Max Baer and Bill Fitzimmons... legs the size of a middle, or light weight, upper torso every bit a heavyweight with wide shoulders and long arms.I love Bruno. Good luck thinking Foreman is the smaller man. Here’s why he was 6”3 and 225/240 in his prime but had an 82 inch reach .He had a stronger punch and equal jab ,he would outlast the smaller Foreman and looking at the Lyle fight a shootout favors Bruno . I think Foreman who fought Holyfield wins though . Bruno would only lose if Foreman dragged him late but little Jimmy Young beat up Foreman because of his stamina issues as well .
Th jab alone would buckle Bruno's knees.Last edited by fourtheboys96; 01-24-2022, 07:24 PM.Comment

Bottom line: Bruno was stopped 5 times in his career. A few times by fighters that weren’t anywhere near the fighter Foreman was. Big George was one of the most heavy handed fighters of all time. To see any other way than Foreman by KO is ridiculous.Comment
