Comments Thread For: Hearn Views Fury-Whyte Purse Bid As Whyte's Best Option: 'I Don't See A Deal Being Done At 80/20'

Eddie Hearn firmly believes his long-aggrieved heavyweight client, Dillian Whyte, will get a better financial deal in a purse bid for his mandated shot against British countryman Tyson Fury, the WBC titlist, than one that is proffered by Fury's promoter.

If Whyte was confident he would win he would jump on that based on his recent earnings.
Problem is he knows he’ll lose so he’s looking to cash out if he’s taking that L.

There always seems complications with whyte, he's just got too used to being the A side. He even has rematch clauses in his fights even tho he's never been a champion. He's got to be one of the most entitled and privileged fighters never to win a world title.

I just think some people on here forget.
they forget that when wilder had a world title to bring to the table, Eddie claimed wilder ain’t worth no % split and he can have a flat fee.

Eddie also said if wilder believes in himself he should take it.

so what’s different now? Whyte ain’t no big draw and he ain’t selling out no venues and he ain’t no cash cow on PPV.

stop focusing on the % and worry what Dillian has been offered.

why doesn’t eddie tell Whyte to take the 5M and Eddie write a cheque for Whyte for another 2-3M.

eddie and matchroom are this huge company aren’t they? Why’s Eddie only offer Whyte £4M to fight AJ, why wasn’t he worth 40% of the taking then?

truth is eddie is hoping fury gets impatient and drops the title. Eddie is petrified of fury and he knows once Joshua loses again that fury will be the man. Eddie would rather sell his daughters to ghislaine maxwell before fury gets his flowers!

If Eddie believed in Whyte he would write Dillian a cheque. He’d say take ya 5M/20% and I’ll sling you another couple M’s.

he basically did it when AJ fought Martin.

It's an interesting situation actually. Think most likely scenario now is Fury vacating.

DAZN clearly see this as the start of PPV in the UK.

Top Rank are in a difficult position, pay up a big fee or vacate the belt, which makes Fury look like a ducker and loses all his momentum. They will need to go way above 20% and it doesn't look like they can afford it.
Top Rank may have to do the dirty on BT to stand a chance of getting this event and somehow dump them for Sky (Tyson's contract is with BT and Frank will not be happy) - or Tyson has a decision to make... Duck the fight (vacate) or fight on the 'away' card.

Eddie can only write a cheque if he's the one promoting the show. Eddie thinks he can make more money with this fight than Top Rank can. So he can outbid Top Rank and have some extra cash to compensate Whyte.

If Top Rank is promoting the show, where's the extra money for Whyte coming from? Eddie's not running a charity.

It has jack all to do with top rank. It is a bt sports/frank warren show as its a uk fight.

bob said when he signed tyson "When he fights in america, we will promote him and when he fights in the uk, frank will promote him".

TR have a deal with sky sports now so theres a chance this fight wont even be on espn.

Bob just doesnt want that fight going to matchroom so is wading in putting pressure on whyte to take a crap deal.
