why is the "greedy" label assigned to any white businessman who tries to earn a profit? Isnt that the point of a business? Since when is someone expected to invest millions of dollars, but then when its time to take a profit suddenly he's supposed to be a 501C3?

And if Arum is so "greedy", then what would the point be of him holding Crawford back? If Crawfords star gets bigger, so does Arum's check. This argument makes no sense.

I'm a big Crawford fan, but this path he chose is beyond bizarre........

My gut says the same, however Bob did admit he killed the Pacquiao fight. That wasn't in Crawford's interest. He did say some racist **** about Spence and Haymon, which even BoMac admitted "didn't help" negotiations, before they even got started! He basically told the public the Spence vs. Crawford wasn't worth the money! He also wasn't going to make the Porter fight either, but the WBO ordered it! It doesn't make him a racist, just a very bad promoter for Crawford!

That said...I'm a fight fan not a contracts lawyer or a finance expert; don't care about purse splits, A-sides or any of that ****...it ain't my money at stake...I just wanna see fights...Crawford-Spence, either one against Charlo or either giving Boots Ennis a chance at the throne, etc etc etc

When I used to listen to my Pops argue boxing with Uncle Herb, Steve the Mailman, Jerry from Jerry's Market and the other ol schools...who sued and what who got paid never came up

Failure to promote Mayweather? He got him his first PPV headliner against Gatti which launched his career to the next level. Two fights later it was Judah. Floyd could have had a career high $8 million plus, but ducked Margarito. Left Arum shortly after.

Arum cares about money, not fighters or their race. He was able to make a star out of Bradley by making a trilogy with Manny. If you look at PBC, they are not matching Tank against anyone, same with the Charlo brothers. Their career has gone nowhere. Crawford has earned more than any other PBC fighter below heavyweight with the exception of Spence, and their earnings are close.

A career high of 8 million for a man whose real career high turned out to be about 300 million? He wouldn't put him in with Oscar when he wanted either. Mayweather had to leave to achieve his worth.

Charles and Tank are bigger than Bud right now. Spence blew past him, financially Broner was even better.

The FACT is, that Arum DOES NOT RUN Top Rank and has not for many years.. He told us, before most of you were born, that he's handed over control to his stepson Todd, and was just enjoying himself being a spokesman. Because he is the face of Top Rank, which he established and ran for many years.

Most or none of you know, that he never had more than a shake hands agreement with Marvin Hagler, who trusted him implicitly all his boxing life. When Marvin's wife got buddy buddy with King, who talked her into trying to get Marvin to leave Arum and sign with him, Hagler told her....

"If you try to interfere with my business again, I'll stop paying for your mother's mortgage"...... I've posted this before, years ago, before I became ashamed of the company I was keeping on boxing-scene, and left, for many years until recently.

Oh yes, Arum, this "greedy ***", and his wife, *******ly support a few Charities, some of which they established years ago, and which are now international. The last I heard was that his wife runs 1-2 full time.

Like I said in the other thread I really doubt the racism accusations specifically will stick but if nothing else, you'd think Arum openly trashing him in interviews when that's the exact opposite of his job as a promoter would constitute a breach of contract, at least of the implied terms if not the explicit ones.

This is where I fall in it as well. I think the angle of the lawsuit is misguided and nearly impossible to prove. The constant public diatribes about his value is another thing entirely.

What he said about the Margarito-Mayweather proposed fight is basically true. Arum offered Mayweather $8 mill to fight Margarito, Mayweather wanted MORE. He said he could get MORE. He was already planning to leave Top Rank, and used that as an excuse. Mayweather was the REAL DEAL, -as a swelled head monster..

In fact it was true, he DID get more after he left Arum. His first fight, as reported in Boxingscene..yes this site, was that he got $8 mill and ONE cent.
