The lawsuit will be intersting. The beauty of civil law vs criminal law is all that is need d in civil law is a preponderance of the evidence rather than a reasonable doubt, a lower level of proof is needed. Arum lost the arbitration with wilder, his record isn’t so good lately. I think Bob needs to lay it down and enjoy the twilight of his life. Top rank is nowhere near as good as they used to be and I really saw heavy decline on hbo leading up to its boxing demiseComment

If we are going to talk about murder and killing the #1 killer of any race or anyone is the white man by far, from non sense wars to slavery, drugs in the inner city, food poisoning guns in the hood and just about everything else so before you point out a monster like Freeway Rick Ross do it by accepting your own legacy.Comment

Case of being ****** for signing twice with a man you claim has done you so wrong, it's as simple as a woman staying with a guy who provides for her but demeans her and beat the hell outta of her also, no difference!Last edited by hitmanjosh; 01-13-2022, 11:50 AM.Comment

People saying accusations of racism are thrown around too much without consequence. But they should be happy this time, because if Crawford is wrong, there are consequences. If he loses the lawsuit he'll have to pay legal fees. So people who dislike him should be happy if they're so sure he'll lose. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't get that far, Arum could seek a settlement. He owed Crawford a fight and failed to deliver, and ESPN probably don't want a big public trial where Crawford's lawyer is gonna get up and list all the things Arum has said and done and show there's a real pattern there.
Remember how Arum spoke about Bradley after the first Pac fight? I disagreed with the judges decision but he talked down Bradley so much, and Bradley was a top fighter who stayed loyal to TR. There are lots of instances like that. When Loma and Shakur sparred and Arum tried to make out Loma dominated even though the fighters said otherwise. All of these things on their own don't mean much but over and over, Arum is the only promoter who talks about his own guys like that, and he only does it with black fighters.Comment

I have no doubt that Bob is at least a little bit racist, for the simple fact that he is an old white man, but how has his racism directly effected Crawford financially speaking?Last edited by b Murphington; 01-13-2022, 03:43 PM.Comment

Engaging in business with a black man in the hope of making money isn’t proof of non-racism. Also, Crawford re-signing with him isn’t proof that Arum isn’t racist either. It wouldn’t be unprecedented for someone, in this instance, Crawford, to choose cash over principles.
But this is besides the key point because I have no idea what Arum is, and i think your sentiment might be on the right track, in that Crawford’s legal case is undermined big time by sticking with him.
Having said that, I think the biggest concern is that most of the big name fighters that leave the Top Rank banner end up suing them. See Pac-Man, Garcia, et al.
Why is that? And doesn’t this lawsuit simply fit in with that pattern? (Albeit with different claims being made)
As long as Bob still has the capital to do so, he’ll continue to promote because he’s a know figure in the boxing world, much like Don King.Comment

I think you’ve replied to the wrong guy here, mate.
And for the record, not only did I not do any of that s*** you’re saying, I’m also not white.Comment

Maybe we need to take a bigger look at what Bob does behind the scenes with these fighters contracts. At the end of the day though, look at Don King. Look at what he did with Tyson. Tyson straight up said Don King stole money from him and called Don King a scumbag. I have no doubt that King did these things, and Don King was still in the game decades after!

Exactly. Something’s up, and I don’t know what. Don King’s not the force he was, but it’s outrageous that a guy like him is anywhere near boxing.
Arum, I don’t know if he’s on that kind of level, but I know that he seems to p*** off his marquee fighters.Comment
