Crawford is half the problem here. He hated doing media interviews for events. You never saw him doing these large press tours like Canelo, Fury and Mayweather would do - where they interview with anyone and everyone. No interviews with the Youtubers.

He's a great fighter, but very poor at marketing himself.
It's the job of the promoter to set press conferences up and, ya know, promote the fighter. Bob was open about not investing in this fighter

There is something to it.
how do you seperate yourself from all these "boxingscene internet lawyers" ? where did you write your bar exams?

I seperate myself by not claiming Crawford has "no case." You're probably one of those people in lol. His lawyers obviously believe he has a case. I'll take their word over yours.

Unless Crawford has some compelling evidence I don’t see how he wins this lawsuit. As talented as Crawford is, he is hard to sell. No charisma, no showmanship. He can try and fault Arum for his career not playing out the way he had hoped, but under Arum he was an undisputed champ and one of the highest paid welters. Still undefeated too. Had he signed with Haymon and lost to Spence or Thurman, he becomes a gatekeeper like Danny or Porter.

Crawford took those crappy fights Arum gave him. In the end he has the say who he wants to fight as long as he doesn't price himself out.

Yeah but it's not like a promotional contract is a symmetrical arrangement. As the promoter it's Arum's prime duty to promote - if he's talking smack about you in interviews it's almost like if you take your car to the mechanic and instead of fixing your brakes he smashes your windshield. Unless it's in Crawford's contract that him making disparaging remarks about Arum or Top Rank / not liking press tours or interviews somehow not only absolves Arum of the core duty under the promotional contract to promote, but to actually do the opposite and publicly try and sabotage his career, then there's no way that you can say that Crawford's the one in the wrong here.

And I don't buy all this talk about interviews and press tours. Sure, your promoter can set that up for you but ultimately it's like you're doing the promoter's work for them. To return to the mechanic metaphor it's like you take your car in to get your brakes fixed, he takes the money from you and then just hands you a wrench and sits back doing nothing. I mean don't get me wrong, I know doing this stuff can help advance a fighter's career a great deal, but it's not the only way to build hype. Arum had no trouble making Pacquiao or Lomachenko into big names in the sport despite the fact that both of them spoke almost no English when they kicked off their pro careers, so interviews were basically off the table with them. He was able to just sell them on being exciting fighters, which Crawford also is, he's a special talent on a roll of exciting and dominant KO victories against a string of solid pros even if they haven't been the cream of the crop overall. You really can't sell that just because he's not fond of trash talk?

"Paid slave" let me guess you probably agree a lot with Kaepernick and the dumb s**t that moron says. Paid millions of dollars for something they are not forced to do. Yeah thats some real slavery right there. Boy, we sure do have some real contenders early for the dumbest post of the year.

Failure to promote Mayweather? He got him his first PPV headliner against Gatti which launched his career to the next level. Two fights later it was Judah. Floyd could have had a career high $8 million plus, but ducked Margarito. Left Arum shortly after.

Arum cares about money, not fighters or their race. He was able to make a star out of Bradley by making a trilogy with Manny. If you look at PBC, they are not matching Tank against anyone, same with the Charlo brothers. Their career has gone nowhere. Crawford has earned more than any other PBC fighter below heavyweight with the exception of Spence, and their earnings are close.
