Who are the best slowest fighters like Danny Garcia for example

Hand speed, it has to be Joe Joyce. His feet are deceptively quite quick though, he can get around the ring quite well. I think that’s part of the reason why people say he seems slow but it’s very different when you’re in the ring with him.Comment

dubois would have knocked out most hw's with those combos. joyce just stood there like he was doing some decorating.

Something always surprising about a slow fighter landing punches without the snap but then seeing the damage the shots are doing.
TS didnt ask for heavies but Joe Joyce. On tele the punches just look so lacklustre and slow and then you see distress signals and an opponents face trying to slide off his skull that reminds you that yeah this is a big scary dude landing big thudding punches. I'd imagine you would get a different perspective watching Joyce ringside. His jab is ridiculously heavy. Which makes him a threat. Joe Joyce is definitely going to hit you. Common sense says maybe someone will spark him out eventually but if he gets big fights I'd be tempted to put money on him because he will be a bookies underdog.
Fascinating fighter to me.
Captain of the who needs him club. Nobody is fighting that guy unless forced.Last edited by Sparked_26; 01-12-2022, 07:32 AM.Comment

Your confusing slow hands and slow feet with counterpunchers who like a slower pace or tempo.Ok, so I got Danny who is slow on foot as well as slow with the hands. Beterbiev is also quite slow both with the hands and the feet. Back in the day Foreman was pretty slow as well. GGG is not the fastest either especially with his power shots but his jab is pretty fast so he does appear faster in general. A lot of current heavies are slow so no point in listing them really as they are not top 5 anyway. So who else either today or in the past was slow yet has/had a very good boxing career. JCC maybe?
PS: Yordenis Ugas is very slow, I forgot all about him. Loses almost all sparring sessions handily against guys like Teofimo, Shakur and Linares out of all people yet does very well under the lights. Still though a very slow fighter in my opinion.Comment

Great post, thank you for the insight, much appreciated!Joe Joyce is my favorite slow guy right now.
edit: just saw u dont want HWs listed, adding to the post to list others
since you're asking for the best, maybe not all are legit "slow" but I think will be quite e, or have already shown to be, quite a bit slower than the other top fighter(s) around them (*it doesn't always matter once the bell rings as we know)
Beterbiev is a good one so I'm going with Navarette, Joe Smith, Errol Spence. No surprise with Smith I don't think, ..... Nav and Spence are my tougher takes because they are both clearly good fighters. But if I'm looking at Nav vs Shakur - how can I not notice that speed gap. And since you listed Ugas we can use that upcoming fight to give the Spence idea another test. You got Danny G as being slow and I don't think Spence was looking that much faster in that one. He''s usually putting the pressure on so it's no slight to him. Like you allude to with mentioning hand/footspeed, there are crazy degrees to speed and how it comes together so this one can get murky.
past:
Froch, not slow with every shot but he for sure thought he was faster than he was. I always used to get a kick out of the look he had when he found out his opponent was way faster than him; like it didn't compute, he really thought he was the speedster out there.
one of my favorite slow guy performances: Baldomir in the Zab fight - I haven't watched that fight in years but I just remember Baldomir couldn't miss even though he was so slow. Zab was reacting, making the defense move...but the punch was only half-way there. It would only barely be arriving after Zab thought it was arriving, then bam right in his face over and over againComment

Remember the Morales vs Garcia fight? Morales was making fun of Garcia during exchanges how slow Danny was. Danny might not be slow for the average guy but as an elite fighter he is slow, same for Beterbiev.Comment
