I think this is a problem in boxing no one is addressing. You've got old guys who's reactions and snap to decision making skills have eroded and fouls get missed and they lose the plot of the match. That whole debacle with Breidis vs Glowacki fouling each other and fighting after the bell is largely because Robert Byrd the ref was entirely too slow on referring the fight and missed the bell ringing. Meanwhile younger refs are passed on refereeing big fights in favor of these old geezers and so young refs aren't getting the experience needed to ref big fights in the first place.

Great comment. Can I take this moment to acknowledge Jack Reiss as a piece of $ht?

Hey there douche bag- ever hear of throwing in the towel? You are just as much at fault as the ref . And you didn’t stop your fighter from complaining like some chick afterwards

Naw, if that was the case, you're supposed to be there to protect your fighter as well. Stand up and wave the towel. Ortiz didn't make him out his hand in the rope, why tf should he wait and give you're fighter a break.

He didn’t block the first shot, he was in a coma looking in the other direction, fully plugged into the matrix. The first free shot brought him back to life, he was totally unable to defend himself until that shot landed.

Then Team Martin should file a formal protest in the state of Florida.

Referee did nothing wrong. If Martin had won, you wouldn't hear a peep from his trainer. Those fighters know danm well what they are getting themselves into when they step in that ring. If you don't want to risk getting seriously hurt then find another profession.
