I didn't watch the fight at all. Read about it the following day and still felt no desire too watch or see highlights. So I read this article and decide I'll go and watch the highlights. I find OFFICIAL PBC edited highlights on their official YouTube channel and....please guys, everyone, I ABSOLUTELY IMPLORE you to give the 3ish minutes to watch this

Perhaps Manny should have taught his charge how not to get his glove caught in the rope.

      Rookie move!

Yeah those highlights are so bad. Almost like they're edited from Martin's point of view...

'Referee did nothing wrong. If Martin had won, you wouldn't hear a peep from his trainer. Those fighters know danm well what they are getting themselves into when they step in that ring. If you don't want to risk getting seriously hurt then find another profession.'

Boxers understand that in almost no other profession do you risk death or life-changing injury. They are still entitled to expect the ref & their corner to protect them & enforce the rules of the sport. This is meant to be a sport not a gladiatorial fight to the death. The ref should've stopped the bout after that punch because Martin was clearly out on his feet, but if Robles could see it why didn't he throw the towel in?
This is the second fight I've seen in a month (the first being Kiko v Kid Galahad) where an incompetent referee & an uncaring, or at best incompetent, corner could've got a man killed.
It isn't good enough & I don't believe the 'tough guy' posters have ever boxed or know what its like. Apart from anything, if they did, they would consider how bad it would be for Ortiz or Martinez to have killed a man, when adequate supervision would've prevented it.

Ha, lol. That's how he describes the fight in the bar for the rest of his life...

Martin was really out of it after that first punch -- not even looking at Ortiz. Robles or the ref could have stopped it at that point. Neither did, but it was pretty fast. Robles is right that Ortiz threw a bunch of punches directly to the back of Martin's head when he was stuck in the ropes and the ref absolutely should have been all over that.

Yep. I was thinking at that moment 'where's the f ing ref?!'. Lotta casuals commenting like the typical Monday morning quarterback... but in the end... the ref was right there and HE should've intervened soon as Martin's glove was caught in the ropes. End result was what could easily have been a career ender... that series of blows behind the head. Once the brain stem is damaged, it's the end. I hope Martin will be okay, and can bounce back for another day.

Although I wouldn't usually defend the Royal Family I don't think Charles is racist & I don't know why you're so sure he is. Reputedly, he was rather eager to be alone with one of the '3 degrees'. Totally, I understand you can be a white supremacist & still want to sleep with black women (look at Strom Thurmond), but if you have a reason to allege he is, what is it?

It is also pretty strange to say 'Prince' Charles Martin can't box. I thought his performance v Ortiz was the best he'd ever boxed. Unfortunately he got nailed with a big shot & proved he doesn't hold a big punch too well.
