Don't think anyone should be so proud of IBF rankings. They rank Charles Martin, Filip Hrgovic, and Joseph Parker above Anthony Joshua. Wilder is not ranked because he hasn't paid them any fee.

Maybe they should call for Hrgovic vs Joshua and have another guy "duck" the boogeyman Hrgovic. Or perhaps they (IBF) should be thinking why we have Hrgovic ranked so high in the first place. The guy hasn't got anything on his resume and never fought a top-25 fighter in his life. I think Hrgovic vs someone in the 15-25 range, then Hrgovic vs someone in the 10-15 range, then someone in the top 10 before even considering him for a place in any eliminator. However, they seemed to be struggling themselves and no one wants to fight their final eliminator and a chance at their title. it seems people are well-positioned or eyeing their chances elsewhere where the rankings are far more reasonable (some are outrageous but still a lot better than the IBF) and the title more respectable.

Agreed. Hrgovic looks stiff and robotic to me and I've seen guys landing on him that shouldn't be landing on him that clean. That being said, it doesn't appear that fighters want to take that fight with him. Maybe his size and power are enough to overcome those imitations my eyes tell me I see.

Not sure if it's the risk/reward for the purse or that nobody really wants a crack at the IBF belt or if he's legitimately being swerved. Regardless I hope someone decent ends up fighting him so I have a better guage of where he's at than Rydell Booker, Mario Heredia and Eric Molina.

I think he's in that position where it's hard to know. Because he has fought limited opposition and never been pushed at all, he has never been forced to go through the gears, and has just been coasting. Many boxers lower their level when fighting far inferior opponents.

I'd like to see him fight the guys around 5-10 in the division, then we'll see what he really has. Sometimes a boxer can be a lot better and more effective in the ring, than he actually looks, maybe he is one of those guys, but his career right not just isn't worth mentioning, as I'm uncertain as to whether he has been a top 50 guy (reality not any Orgs rankings) never mind top 10 or 20.

The funny thing is, people, Eddie Hearn included have laughed off Alen Babic as an imminent opponent, but Babic would be his best win by a distance imo, and makes mincemeat out of anyone on Hrgovic's record, despite his obvious limitations. Yeah, Hunter ducked him, I called that well before it happened, and took "the better deal" to avoid a beating. If Hunter believed he could beat Hrgovic, beating him would have gathered him a far better deal after that, than what he got from the novelty channel he fights on.

So, whilst Hrgovic is kind of on the outside looking in, Hunter, is now lost and nowhere to be found after his embarrassing draw, which he really lost very wide. Well, at least he got his "better deal", he had momentum, and now it's Michael Who? Nash out.
