It is negative but it ain't weird, the man is a charleton. He does not belong in this sport.

Just that people are easily persuaded to pass on what appears to be a better scenario/deal now for something that's promised in the future.

PBC has a history of having thier fighters turn down career high pay days in order to benefit the brand more so than the fighters earnings.

Ortiz turning down $7mil for Joshua
Wilder turned down $100-$120mil 3 fight deal
Mall turned down $5-$7 mil for a shot at Canelo
Mall turned down $7 mil Andrade offer
Tank turned down $5mil for a shot at Farmer

I'm sure there's a couple more but you get the picture. I'm not aware of any other high profile fighter, from any other promotional outfit, turning down lucrative offers like that? And these aren't offers to face second rate fighters, these are offers to face the best of the division sans Farmer.
Seeing those kids of Luis Ortiz, the eldest in tears, I could imagine Jimenez being consumed with guilt denying their father the opportunity to make money significantly more by turning down DAZN's offer. I doubt the same offer would re-appear considering DAZN no longer spend huge money like drunken sailors. Jimenez will never be able to live in peace because of that silly decision he made without Ortiz's consent.

To be fair to Jimenez he was only acting under orders from a above and we all know if you don't act upon the orders of above you are out the door. Look what happened to Lou DiBella when he got confused and thought his ppl actually wanted the Heavyweight undisputed fight between Wilder and Joshua.

We may never know the exact story. From what various media accounts tell at that time, Jimenez was screaming lowball and demanding $10 million. Whatever moon and stars Haymon promised Jimenez, he's still had the sole discretion of what option to go for. Ruiz was not swayed. He's with Haymon also. There's no doubt Andy would still last years without looking for a job with the money he got from that fight.

Haymon is no different than anyone who has ever held that position. Haymon, Arum, King, Hearn, Duva, they’re all one and the same.
