Oscar and GBP are the reason Ortiz became relevant player at HW. Under GBP they worked him up to the point he was headlining HBO cards,beating the likes of Jennings before someone came along whispering in his ear.

PBC has a history of having thier fighters turn down career high pay days in order to benefit the brand more so than the fighters earnings.

Seeing those kids of Luis Ortiz, the eldest in tears, I could imagine Jimenez being consumed with guilt denying their father the opportunity to make money significantly more by turning down DAZN's offer. I doubt the same offer would re-appear considering DAZN no longer spend huge money like drunken sailors. We may never know the exact story. From what various media accounts tell at that time, Jimenez was screaming lowball and demanding $10 million. Whatever moon and stars Haymon promised Jimenez, he's still had the sole discretion of what option to go for. Ruiz was not swayed. He's with Haymon also. There's no doubt Andy would still last years without looking for a job with the money he got from that fight.
