Ortiz is totally overhyped, likeable and great marketing sure, but he would not beat Wlad even now, PBC have totally deluded people that Ortiz is the goods, Martin is an absolute bum, beating him is a non-achievement, but he’s actually one of the best names on his CV, who else? Malik ‘no power Scott? you know in his prime Ortiz went 12 rounds with this guy, Chisora battered Malik and it was a non-achievement for him and yet, Malik is prob the 3rd best on Ortiz CV. Seriously what has this guy done? He didn’t make his own countries Olympic team, despite that being his reason for going pro late, he went pro and he has not beaten anyone decent or come close to a belt once. Sick of hearing about him like he’s some kind of legend.

    • Martin was always fidgeting with his hands, could never decide if he wanted his left a bit higher, his right a tad lower or vice versa. Like a middle-class lady with a picture frame. He used up several rounds-worth of fuel just fidgeting in front of Ortiz. I don't think it was feinting &, if it was, Ortiz wasn't buying it. It was just fidgeting. Ortiz always came out with his hands exactly in the same place. When Ortiz was knocked down he just smiled like 'thats on me, I f'''''ed up'. Basically, Ortiz looked comfortable in there & Charles didn't.

That said, Charles came in in magnificent shape, fought his heart out & showed a lot of courage. If he wants to carry on there are still good fights out there for him. If he calls it a day then he went out a warrior, nothing but respect for the man.

      • Why does Martin never hold his gloves in front of his chin? lol

People have been mocking Ortiz but how do you feel now he has beaten the great Charles Martin? No longer will people say that Ortiz only beat Jennings. Now you have to add Martin to that list!

        We want Ortiz/Chisora next.

        • Bad fight. I'd like to see Hrgovic v Ortiz next, I think Ortiz would have few chances.

Hrgovic is most likely next . I wouldn’t mind seeing a rematch it was a good fight and still posters complaining on this or that guy should retire ,it’s like when a good fight happens they don’t want to see the fighters fight again because someone lost or they struggled to get the win ?
Yeah I know it won't happen. I was just surprised nobody put it out there and was curious to see if anyone was interested. It would be a good rematch, there's certainly been worse. But your right, it should be Hrgovic, Ortiz next. But I'm not sure wether they take it. They didn't before.

“Open your eyes” was no doubt for dramatic effect but I’m immune to Jedi mind tricks. You’re spewing emotional propaganda. But like Josef Goebels said, “if you tell a lie long enough people will believe it.” And hence the bran dead anti pbc chants. I suspect, and strongly so, that we wouldn’t see these accusations at all if your god Hearn was running the sport…..it would be considered the natural order of things…..
Re-read the post. Then think about the fights you just mentioned in the proper context. Then re-read the post, and see if you want to try again.

              • The fight was over right here...it could have been stopped anytime after that first punch.

The Wlad that Fury barely beat was easy pickings. the averaged 8 punches per rd COMBINED. That wasn't a fight. It was a staring contest. Fury has a shltty resume. The end.

ps Charles martin is dog poo.

You know in retrospect, Charles Martin should of used his entanglement with the ropes to his advantage in this critical moment. Put on a show, pretend that he was unable to get out of the knot, who would blame him after getting repeatedly fouled and rabbit-punched?
