If Canelo clears out LHW and takes a belt or two at Cruiser then I can totally see this fight happen for better or for worse.

Yes because paid of judges can change facts cant' they? Canelo has unofficially lost to Mayweather, Golovkin twice and Lara. The world saw him lose these fights... These are the only facts you need tv get your head around.

Canelo haters have zero rationality. No matter what he does, you'll rag on him. Who has Benavidez fought? How many champions has he beaten? If he was all that, why didn't he unify the entire division in a year? Instead he lost his belt TWICE, on the scales because he's unprofessional, and from using a drug that's a felony offense even to possess. But you're not going to criticize him for that, even though otherwise you're all about slamming people for drugs. Just not if they're Canelo opponents.
It's funny, that excuse doesn't work in any other sport but Canelo fanboys give him witness protection. For example, the Bucs last year didn't get to say "Mahomes? Who has he beat? He just has 1 super bowl ring, Brady has 6. Mahomes hasn't done enough to deserve the chance to play us, we should just call ourselves the face of the NFL."

See how dumb this all sounds? Benavdez earned the Canelo fight by becoming a champion at 168 period.

Why won't Usyk move down to Nelo's best weight ?

It's so easy to demand something of one fighter but not another

GGG got away with it his entire career

I was like WTF!!! This fight is RIG'd.

Kovalov keeps pulling ALL his punches back???
That's a clever joke for sure and I laughed, but just because you can make a funny joke doesn't change that in my opinion the fight was fixed. But I agree with you Boxing Goat is misinformed. In a fixed fight, you don't hurt the guy but then pull back, because that is risky and why would Canelo pay Kovalev to still hurt him? You think Canelo wants to get hurt at all? Like "here's a million dollars. Give me a concussion, that's fine, just don't knock me out."

I mean, it's ridiculous. No way. Kovalev never wobbled him, or punched him, and Canelo never punched Kovalev. It's called choreography and acting. These guys fight once every three months maximum. That gives them time to choreograph full 30 minute shows, give or take, the way ballet dancers perform entire choreographies at once, which some boxers also have training in (Lomachenko etc), or the way that professional actors learn fight choreography, or the way WWE matches and UFC are in my opinion choreographed.

How do they make it look real? Well they touch each other enough to make it look real, but they don't hit each other. You pull the punches and kicks off at angles, you snap the head, you combine this with some camera tricks, you use the right type of cameras, lenses, and framerates, etc. It's a whole production with many different elements that come together to make it look good.

The ginger is the one challenging and going up in weight. We all know is a very selective, and carefully manipulated matchmaking. Even his fans knows that. The 168 division was there for the taking, he never wanted to unify, until benavidez was out of the picture, and by no means I'm stating that benavidez would mop the floor with canelo. But it was so obvious that he didn't and don't want to fight the young lion. By the same token, he might change his mind. I tell you what, 168-175 is getting crowded.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but how does anyone who's followed boxing not know who makabu is? He's been around long enough for any non casual to know exactly who he is
