I will say this, I don't agree with Canelo take on this, because if we go by this then we could also argue that Caleb Plant had not beat a top guy. Now, I know Canelo choosed Plant because he had a belt, I know Benavidez right now doesn't offer him a belt and I know right now Charlo doesn't offer him a belt because he is not moving back down to 160 ever.

So I'ma throw my most realistic and honest opinion on this, I don't agree with Canelo on this one but I also don't agree with the people who says he is ducking Benavidez and Charlo, I think both of those fights are the best fights for Canelo at 160-168 alongside Andrade.

Now I was on the record on this site saying Canelo was gonna pick Charlo for next May and this Makabu bull**** caught me by surprise, now, don't get me wrong, Makabu is not a bad fight like a lot of people are making it to be but it's not also a top fight, it's a solid fight to grab a title in another division against a low level champion.

However and here comes the huge "IF", I've read and heard numerous reports that Canelo-MakabuMchuno winner is looking less likely for May and I'm starting to hear again a lot the name of Bivol, here is the thing, If Canelo fights Makabu next I won't have a problem as long as he fights a legit guy on September, if Canelo goes to fight Bivol or Beterbiev for next May, to me that's a ballsier move than fighting Benavidez and Charlo because I'm on the record saying that the 3 toughest fights for Canelo out there are Beterbiev, Benavidez and Bivol.
