Is Katie Taylor the most overrated female boxer?

I’m yet to see her win a fight convincingly but she’s tough. I think I can count about 3 fights she clearly lost but was given the nod.

Christy Martin or Mia St John perhaps. Laila Ali was hyped but fought mostly no-hopers yet never fought Ann Wolfe.

Katie joined the professional ranks about 5 years ago and i imagine the majority of her professional career has been fought last her physical peak. She still fights in an amateurish style and never really developed a proper professional manner of fighting.

Don't really care for female boxing but the fact that she gets hyped up so much made me want to tune in to some of her fights...........and she is definitely over-hyped. In her last 5 fights she's gotten 2 gift decision, and 2 more life and death fights that she barely pulled off against some absolute bums.

Yeah, most of her televised fights could be scored as draws.

Taylor is ok but she lost to Persoon

her defence is garbage too, she gets caught flush in the face about 50 times a fight. Good thing the standard of womens boxing is still pretty low. In the mens game, that level of defence would get you hurt.

All she has his good hand speed and decent technique. That will get you to the top of the womens game though, which is mostly made up by lesbians that took boxercise classes and got told they should take it seriously.

Serrano will probably beat her. That lady that smoked Terri Harper would beat up Taylor too. I said on here about 10 seconds into the Harper fight on the live thread she looks like she really knows how to fight.

Katie is highly, highly skilled. However, yeah, her defense can be a little suspect at times, and the real drawback to her inside the ring is her lack of power. Her punching power is probably moderate at best.

I still enjoy watching her work inside the ring, though. She's a smart, skilled boxer so I find her entertaining to watch. I also like her humility and class.
