Valero isn’t a guy you can judge by resume anyway, his career was cat way short because he was a complete psychopath.

    Haney - jojo diaz imo
Ryan garcia? I actually didn't even mention him because he slipped my mind. I don't think he beat anyone better than demarco so i can give you that but ryan is bigger than him and has a powerful left hook

i agree his career was cut short...but with 27 fights only one decent fighter? Teo, Haney, Loma all stepped up faster. Even Ryan Garcia sort of when he fought Luke Campbell.

Hard to say because he fought no one of any real note.

I think just one ranked fighter in DeMarco

Yeah. But look how he handled DeMarco compared to Linares. That's a good way to imagine how he would have fared against other boxers.

I don't rate these new lightweights, as they are hype. But they are far more proven than Valero.
Fact check - in 27 fights, Valero fought just 6 Mexican born fighters.

I’m a big JoJo fan but what’s he really done at 135? DeMarco has become a gatekeeper in recent years, but following his defeat to Valero he went on a great run becoming WBC knocking out Linares, Molina Jr and Mickey Roman.

It is mainly going off the eye test but I think Valero was a really good fighter, I thought he showed a lot of potential in the DeMarco fight too. I don’t know whether you’ve ever seen it, but DeMarco lands a MMA style elbow and literally splits Valero’s forehead open in the early rounds and Valero then just proceeds to beat the sh** out of him for 8-9 rounds or however long it lasted. Valero had power, good hand speed, great output, decent footwork and very solid chin, the only thing he lacked was defence, he’d often walk onto shots when he became too offensive minded.

I can potentially see Loma outboxing him and Tank getting too him in a shootout but I’d bet the house on Valero knocking out Haney or Garcia.

                  Linares isn’t that good.

DeMarco’s far from elite. And that’s the only ranked fighter he beat.

If thats the measuring stick then Adrien Broner looked better than Valero against DeMarco.

Linares is really good man. The guy was robbed a couple of times. His first or second loss was in Mexico, and the doctor called it off for no reason. And if I remember right, Linares was kicking De Marco’s ass until he got cut. And he had a **** cut man that night too. I remember.

See, when people say stuff like this, it makes me wonder about them. Emanuel Steward though Linares was one of the best boxers he’s ever seen. It was just unfortunate that he fought in the wrong country or suffered the worst cut. Otherwise his record would be much better.

I think he would get outboxed but the guy clearly was tough as nails and would eventually stop a couple guys who can't handle elite pressure.
