It's weird how nationalistic people get when analysing competition. Boots should be fighting for a title or at the very least an eliminator. He was a 58-3 amateur and now 28-0 as a pro. He should have much bigger fish to fry than Conor Benn.

Benn on the other hand, 22 fight amateur, and 19-0 as a pro, so about half the total experience.

Even if you disregard the amateur experience. Compare like for like competition at the same stage in the pros... In fights 18-20 Benn has been fighting gatekeepers with a combined record of 77-17. Ennis on the hand for those fights fought guys with a combined 62-36-4.

I do want to see Benn fight a contender/champion for a regional title next, somebody looking up their career rather than down. But, people shouldn't pretend that Boots was taking on higher quality opponents at the same stage of development because it's BS.

Yeah that was kind of my point, he's reached that level with much less experience than Boots. Yet some of the posters on here **** on about Boots but can't wait to criticise Benn's standard of opposition. It's really strange.

conor is only 25, yes he got caught a bit off guard in that fight but he was just a kid, remember fury struggled against mcdermott when he was young, many thought he lost!! connor is improving at a faster pace than anyone in that division, jsut tune in on saturday night and dont make excuses

Algieri hasn’t been relevant for 6 years, he’s a well past his prime and he’s a Light Welterweight. If Benn doesn’t stop him it’s embarrassing.
