The hate for GGG is strong with that one I'm puzzled by people who don't give credit where credit is due. I don't see any MW today who would be likely to beat GGG in his prime. Now that he is 39 everyone suddenly wants to fight him.

Ppl who talk sh.. about GGG are real dumb. I was at the Turning Stone when he 1st fought as pro in the U.S. against the polish guy Prozka. I was in Carson at the Stub hub when he ko'd Rubio. I was at the garden in the front row when he bloodied Gabe Rosado, and I was at the Garden when he fought Derevyanchenko. When he was at his peak, most fighters weren't eager to share a ring with him. Ppl waited him out, dodged him, and ran their mouth on the internet but basically wanted nothing to do with him for years. Sure Ward would have maybe beat him. Ward was a light heavyweight. And Sure Boo Boo wanted him. But Boo Boo is avoided in boxing too. Very few wanted him when he was at his nost destructive and u can't take anything away from GGG. He is who he is- a guy who was feared and avoided in his prime. A guy who was skilled, cut the ring off, hit extra hard, and would bust u up and knock u out. A guy who was damned near impossible to discourage or hurt in the ring. Period end of story

ill tell you what golovkin did....his team and his fans promised big things...talked alot of nonsense....and in the end what hell be known for is his KO streak of beating up guys like curtis stevens...who lost to legit d level club fighters like primera and brinkley

if golovkin is really about the life he says he is....theres an easy fight to make after murata...its andrade.....hell at least earn a shred of respect back from me if he takes that fight....odds are not in favor that he will based on his history

As a one-time fan of Golovkin I enjoyed watching his KO streak - it was made up of contenders and ex champs at th etime - pretty much like Gervonta's opponents until now - maybe Gervonta will go on to make a much better legacy than Golovkin, looks like he will - but at this point in time that's what we have with Gervonta in my opinion - not that I care, I still enjoy his fights

Guy is 39, father time can come knock his ass out at any moment. I do think he won at least one of those Canelo fights but if they ahd a trilogy fight at this point Canelo stops him imo. Nobody is at their best at 39.

Golovkin is a monster. In 2015/2016 when G was the mw super WBA champion, interim mw WBC champion, also the No 1 mw WBC mandatory challenger and then he became the mw IBF champion , G was avoided like plague by Cotto and Canelo.

I also think G could beat most of the mw fighters like Murata, Munguia, Charlo, Andrade and Eubank Jr

That may, or may not, be true. But he needs to prove it in the ring and he doesn't show much interest in attempting to unify except with Murata, who is probably the weakest of the bunch

GGG fought no one of note until after he turned 30, same as most pro boxers these days. And now you are talking about giving leeway after age 35. You are basically coming up with blanket excuses for boxers fighting C-level opponents for a large majority of their careers. Look at Crawford, his first significant fight is going to come around age 35, same as GGG, but afterwards you'll say he doesn't need to fight anyone good anymore because he's 35+? Most these guys careers basically start at 35+. If you dont watch any of their fights until they turn 35 or close to it, it's like you missed absolutely nothing important for many of them. All the moreso someone like GGG who achieved no notable wins before age 35, he should be making up for lost time after 35, rather than fighting such poor opposition.

So, I really can't agree with your post. GGG's career post-Canelo has been a massive disappointment, same as his career before Canelo, and same as his two performances vs Canelo (whether you feel he won, or not, he was not himself in either fight, looking slow, wild, unaggressive, tactically inept, and lacking his usual stamina and activity).

It's almost like someone took over your profile - you used to go on a long ramble and it kind of made sense. Now the rambles are a bit shorter but there is no logic to them.

Golovkin turned pro at 24 and was messed around by Universum until he was 28. So that explains why he hadn't really fought many until he was 30.

Most boxer's careers do not start at 35. Just stop already. We all know whats up with Crawford and not getting the fights. In fact the main similarity is that they were both avoided.
