GGG fought no one of note until after he turned 30, same as most pro boxers these days. And now you are talking about giving leeway after age 35. You are basically coming up with blanket excuses for boxers fighting C-level opponents for a large majority of their careers. Look at Crawford, his first significant fight is going to come around age 35, same as GGG, but afterwards you'll say he doesn't need to fight anyone good anymore because he's 35+? Most these guys careers basically start at 35+. If you dont watch any of their fights until they turn 35 or close to it, it's like you missed absolutely nothing important for many of them. All the moreso someone like GGG who achieved no notable wins before age 35, he should be making up for lost time after 35, rather than fighting such poor opposition.
So, I really can't agree with your post. GGG's career post-Canelo has been a massive disappointment, same as his career before Canelo, and same as his two performances vs Canelo (whether you feel he won, or not, he was not himself in either fight, looking slow, wild, unaggressive, tactically inept, and lacking his usual stamina and activity).
You cant say that about Bud cause he unified 140 and won belts at 135.
Just cause he been blanketed put by the PBC fighters at welterweight dont mean he hasn't done nothing before.
Plus GGG has had a semi decent run.
Having no off nights In many defenses of his belt who at the time were all classed in the top 10.
Bud and GGG are first ballot HOF.
How can that be achieved by fighting no-one.?
I don't know your background but for example in the Latin culture when a woman calls you Papi it's normally a good thing - lol
Is your wife younger than you by quite a lot? The only thing I can say is a lot of it is attitude and taking the right actions. Part of the right actions is making sure you surround yourself with supportive people - if your wife is joking fair enough but if she is criticising maybe she could be more supportive. Anyway, it's a little early but wish you a strong and positive 2022.
Way younger I took her outta a crowd
she was shocked I pushed putos outta the way to have her.
we married…
her mom said just marry him.
we still in love.
now I go biblical on you..
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD

As far as I'm aware Breadman and Dougie Fischer have huge respect for Golovkin and his career. I think that either one of those 2 guys, but especially Breadman imo, are more knowledgable than any poster on this forum.
There was hype around Golovkin, don't deny it. It was OTT, but as you pointed out, in the beginning it came from HBO. Now consider this:- Crawford gets criticised by his own promoter for not self promoting. Nobody could accuse Golovkin of that. If Golovkin had not had a name and hype then he wouldn't have got the Canelo fights - but Canelo realised that he was the biggest money maker out there for him. Of course, Golovkin could have avoided self promoting - he could just have taken a leaf out of Demetrius Andrade's playbook on how to have a stellar career and create some kind of legacy. In 25 years time who will be more remembered, Andrade or Golovkin?
But you act as if Golovkin was the only guy to ever get hyped. Look what is happening with Tank right now - he's taking flak because so far there's more hype than substance.
you think andrade has had a stellar career? no way...yeah it doesnt have any losses on it.....but its not good at all...but thats a whole different issue...im from the same state as andrade and have followed him since he was a kid and im one of his biggest critics...his career has been a waste....
golovkin self promoted to a degree...but not that much...he said some things but the message was never clear...like how he said "anyone from 154-168" then his fans claimed he only meant "big fights"...and his fans said "ward isnt relevant anymore and cant even make 168"....
canelo realized "he was the biggest money maker out there for him"???? nah...i see it differently...it was thrust upon canelo through HBO...HBO was trying to build a new pac and a foil to canelo....they were building that fight up from long before it was discussed...they were grooming golovkin and building him up...they were putting on main events where golovkin was beating up guys like stevens(as i mentioned he lost to D level club fighters...one win over saul roman doesnt make him legit...we know what stevens was at that point...he didnt belong in golovkins class...heck dirrell showed many years earlier he wasnt even in dirrells class)
HBO, loeffler and sanchez did as much for golovkin as golovkin ever did for himself as far as promotion...the media also helped...and the fans on boxing boards did as they flocked to golovkin and praised his greatness
its funny you mention tank....tank taking flak because theres more hype than substance....im a tank fan but i wont fully disagree....thats fair imo....but heres the difference....tank is catching a ton of flak....and golovkin never did...every excuse was made for golovkin by the fans on boards...and the media never pressured him to fight ward or even lara...or really any good fighters until he was forced to fight jacobs by canelo/hbo(you do know they basically told him he had to fight jacobs first right?)....the media and everyone gave golovkin a pass because that was the plan....they didnt want golovkin losing to ward before golovkin/canelo could be made....that was HBOs plan all along.........now w/ tank...imagine tank came out and said "i want to fight loma and ry...but oscar and bob arum wont let it happen"....what do u think the majority of this, and any other, forum would say? theyd sheet all over tank and start crying about al haymon......funny how that works......and this comes from a white male born and bred in RI
He needs to change his name from GGG to OG GG. I think he still beats almost all of the middleweights right now. If I can see the Morata fight, I'll be able to tell if he can pull out a win against Clenelo.
He can't. That's why he's being so carefully matched.
He's totally lost it - you have to wonder why. It's not like other fighters dont get hyped - Tank Davis is one at the moment. Joshua. Tyson Fury. Broner.
And the funny thing is - we see fights all the time, like Charlo-Montiel, or Tank-Cruz, where a hyped up 'great' fighter struggles against lower tier competition.
GGG never did that, in like 10+ fights against guys like that. That is a big part of what makes him a great fighter imo.
These guys are just too blinded by their hate to analyze anything correctly.

Your long answer is great and merits a lengthy reply but I'm super busy rght now so I'll keep it short-ish. I was being sarcastic about Andrade - everything yiu said I agree with. I agree that Loeffler and Sanchez did the heavy lifting - hey had too cos GGG can barely speak english. That 154-168 message was a cluster-**** and riled up a load of people for nothing. What you say about HBO grooming GGG as a Canelo foil is interesting,I hadn't considered that. I think Golovkin did catch flak and still does - look at this thread. The media could have pressured him to fight Ward but I never saw Lara as a possibility - and I think time has shown I was right - he stayed at 154 virtually all of his career. By the way - credit where due - K2 kept GGG away from Ward and a good thing too - he would have beaten GGG by UD. I like Tank too - I just wish he'd fight a 50/50 fight sometime soon - hopefully next year.
You absolute bell-end idiot - I was saying that we can call the non fight a duck by GOLOVKIN - not Ward - if it so makes you happy.
I reckon that's you in your sig photo - ****ing away on your computer in your elderly parent's spare room - so much anger and hatred for Golovkin that you can't even read a post properly - you just see what you want to see - lost in a fog of biased hyper subjectivity.
This thread has probably aged you 5 years by sending your blood pressure through the roof. Aren't you from Down Under ? - I thought people were more chilled from there.
I agree... it CLEARLY was
my issue is with the shlthead who decided to insist that Ward avoided that fight, when that is CLEARLY not the case
feel free to correct him Steve
you could also give him your opinion on that... " Golovkin gave us the fights we wanted " nonsense
I keep it too real for those fanboys... I do not like them spouting garbage and messing up this site, especially if it disrespects BETTER fighters

lara wasnt a possibility? bruh how many times have we heard guys say theyd move up a class for the right fight? even golovkin signed his name to paper to fight chavez at 168 and pursued froch....lara wanted to fight him at 160 and was calling for it...its only a one class jump...guys routinely move from 154 to 160 .....and team golovkin never considered it..in fact they rebuffed the idea....they said he wasnt big enough of a name and not enough of a "draw" lol...even though golovkin was fighting the likes of whoever at 160....that was a time too when lara would have been the best scalp on golovkins resume....the problem was stylistically they didnt like the fight....they expected lara to fight like a cuban and it wasnt what HBO wanted to present.....
im glad you realize the media never pressured golovkin to fight ward like they should have....they do that to other fighters whenver the feel like it though....the reason they didnt is because HBO didnt want them to....HBOs preference was golovkin/canelo and ward/kovalev.....ward even said once in public "imagine our resumes were reversed and i was avoiding him...what theyd say about me".....
