2 questions. Firstly...who's attesting to their credibility. Secondly...how did they obtain these records? Is there no such thing as doctor patient confidentiality in the U.S.? If so...then Lopez would have had to sign off on the release of those records for public viewing. The only reasonable reason to do that is to create propaganda and to try to support the lie that is his truth. He thinks he won. He believes the only way he could have lost was if he was at 5% capacity. Don't buy into it. The better man won on the night.
That doesn't mean that all of the records become available to the public.
He probably didn't want to be accused of making excuses.

I have a friend who grew up in New York, at least until she was 12 years old or so, and she has asthma. That's interesting. I wonder if she's aware of many people in that area developing asthma.
It would be nice to talk to the doctors, for sure, because this sounds like another PR piece by Kriegel for Teofimo. He's the one that broke the story that Teofimo had an injured toe, which needed surgery, after the Loma fight. His broken toe that was mysteriously not there when Teofimo was doing backflips. And again we have Kriegel breaking the story of Teofimo's illness. Kriegel is coming off like Lopez's PR person. He never writes a story critical of Lopez. It makes me wonder about ESPN's relationship with Lopez. I think ESPN has a lot of money invested in him, so this is damage control. That's what it seems like to me.
And yeah, oxygen is probably the most important element boxing. The worse thing that can happen to a fighter is gassing out. I lost a fight because I gassed by the end of the third round. The ref thought I was injured after taking a shot because of my body language (I assume). But the shot didn't even phase me really; I had punched myself out and was waiting for the round to end. I always remember that because I realized how important conditioning is and that the worst thing that can happen to a fighter is getting tired. I don't think there's anything more detrimental.
And I agree completely that I can't see Lopez fighting through that. Paul Felder from the UFC fought with a collapsed lung but that happened at the end of the fight, I believe. I think it happened at the very end, that a piece of his lung came off. As much as I'd like to believe Lopez, he's human after all, and there's no way he could have fought with that condition. I think it's something that occurred at the end of the fight or afterward. The kid is not superman.
As an aside, I think the worst injury I ever heard of someone playing through was a busted spleen. Chris Sims of TampaBay Buccaneers played through a busted spleen, so there are instances of superhumanism, but like you said, I can't imagine Lopez fighting like that and then doing backflips afterward.Comment

I don't know if he did...and I don't care. Loma fought the fight and lost. My opinion is he lost the fight not because of injury but because he started too slow. Based on that opinion and what I saw from Lopez in the second half of that fight...I believed that Lopez was a good fighter but definitely not what he was made out to be...and that's why I predicted a Kambosos win. Kambosos won on the activity that Loma lacked. He showed...as did Loma in the second half of the fight...that Teo can't take pressure. Likely more an anxiety thing than an injury.Comment

According to the ESPN article, Two states he had a flareup of symptoms after the weigh in when they went to Carmine's restaurant for a meal. He said he thought it was acid reflux and he felt the need to burp and his neck began to swell. I'm assuming he thought some of the issues, if they in fact occurred, to be a result of his asthma or the acid reflux.

Holy crap! That does explain a lot. Unless your name is buster douglas, you don’t go from beating a Lomachenko to losing to a Kambosos. Kambosos is ripe for the taking, any of the other 135 pounders is going to whip his ass and take the belts. There’s gotta be a manic scramble right about now behind the scenes for one of them to secure the fight.
Tank Davis is licking his lips. Your right, The race who gets George first and all the belts is on.Comment

I'll also add that another 2 second google search told me that about 10% of people who experience blunt trauma can have this happen to them.
