  • Comments Thread For: Doctor: Teofimo Lopez 'Lucky He's Not Dead' Due To Breathing Issue Before, After Kambosos Bout

The internal physical damage Teofimo Lopez suffered last week was more dangerous than the obvious cuts and bruises he sustained during his stunning loss to George Kambosos Jr.

Lopez should not put his life at risk anymore, if all of the above is true.

Wilder can use this excuse the next time he gets his arse handed to him in the ring.

If he takes another beating like the last two, he might leave the ring on a stretcher.

And he won 10 of the 12 rds almost dying…lmao bro enough with the excuses. You got your arse whoop, learn from the lost and try to get better. Excuses won’t help with the growing process

This excuse would actually be more believable compared to some of brain dead excuses he used. The costume thing was ridiculous but I still can’t believe how dirty he did Mark Breland to try and save face.

                Hold up.

After the fight they said he had breathing issues. The issues were from a tear to his esophagus. Nothing was detected in pre-fight. Nobody said it wasn't caused in the fight, nor was any evidence presented which would say it was likely there before the fight.

(They were careful to include that the tear "could have" been there before the fight and might not have been detected. That's not the same, since, after catching a beatdown, most people would just sensibly assume that the beatdown did it.)

I call BS. Dude got beat, bad. GK tore his esophagus. Lopez took a post-fight medical exam and twisted it to be an excuse.

                True, I could be wrong.

But it seems like the new trend in boxing is excuses. Either they have an excuse not to fight or, if they fight, reserve the excuses for after the fight. It's just like I said with Loma; I'm a fan, but if you decided to fight, then don't bring up the shoulder afterward.

They want me to believe that this tear cause huge breathing problems and almost killed him, and that it could have been there already? Um, then wouldn't he have noticed it? I'm not on board.

Well, if his breathing were so bad, then why was he not coughing once during the whole pre-fight, fight and post fight?

He said it could happen from physical trauma to the chest and esophagus, so George punched him so hard it gave him Pneumomediastinum. That’s what it sounds like to me.

Sure. That's why he was still back flipping when everyone else was gone.
