It's smart of Arum to copy what works in MMA just like the UFC copies what works in Boxing, Arum is an old millionaire that is financially set. I think MMA/UFC getting big is actually burning a flame in his ass to finally start doing the right things for the sport instead of raping it like he's been doing for awhile.
I totally agree with you but Dana White said we do things that Boxing do/did but we won't make the same mistakes has Boxing. Dana White said in the past we got the blueprint of Boxing.

Bob Arum was there during the best times of boxing (way before UFC was formed).

he's an old timer, so of course he's going to say the UFC is junk.

just cause you might copy something doesn't mean its a threat.

for instance... nike might copy some business practice of mcdonalds. is mcdonalds a threat to nike? nope.

I get what you're saying but totally different situation.

You gonna say MMA is not a threat to Boxing? PPV buys, losing potential Boxers to MMA, more fans supportin MMA?

the so called biggest draw in Boxing failed to sell out an arena in what he now calls his hometown...UFC have no problem selling tickets in vegas.

like it or not, MMA is a threat to Boxing and promotors know it.

Arum is just too old and out of touch. I'm both a big boxing fan and MMA fan, and I don't see why the two have to be mutually exclusive. As far as the MMA guys having worse chins, put 4oz gloves on boxers and you'll have the same result.

                  Hahaha
Out of nowhere a lot of criticism right before the 19th.
Bob Arum knows what he is doing
                  a) Getting more people to buy MMA PPV not PBF/JM/Golden Boy
                  b) Putting more pressure on PBF (who all the way through was trying to avoid this competition)

                    Agreed

I agree with Arum. It's a sport, but it's garbage. There's nothing more gay than a couple of guys sweating in biker shorts rolling around on the ground with one another. If these guys would master boxing, it would change the sport drastically. And regarding Dana White, if he was such a believer in the UFC why not sanction that fight with Roy Jones Jr & Anderson Silva

not true man, boxers generally tuck their chins and are used to taking a shot and seeing the punch coming. UFC fighters are wide open and aren't used to taking punches. Watch the video, the power difference is minimal.
