What he is decrying is the lack of diversity in the MMA crowd. Poorly worded, but true.

If you think about it, there is an "MMA culture". And it (largely) revolves around white guys with tats, shaved heads, and Affliction or TapOut clothing. You know it when you see it.

There is no "boxing culture". boxing is much more diverse. It can be Jay-Z or Helen Mirren. It can be Bert Sugar or Max Kellerman. Boxing is much broader.

I have been to an MMA weekend in Vegas. It IS monolithic.

Have you guys watched the entire interview, its hilarious. He talks about Mayweather shooting up cars on the weekends and when he talks about guys rolling around he say they roll around like homesexuals in the ring lol.

i dont mind MMA at all and i even train in it but boxing is just simply more beautiful to me. and arum is somewhat right with what he said.

I'm a MMA fan and not got a skinhead or not tattooed. It is clear Bob just feels the threat of MMA.

MMA should be givin him and other promotors a kick up the arse they need.

In order to succeed in any sports... one must have talent!!!
That includes MMA Fighters....

MMA is just too brutal for a sport!!!

But the percentage of winning each sport seems to favor the boxer.....
That means Boxers have 80% chance winning in boxing...
While MMA Fighters have 60% chance of winning the MMA...

Bob Arum has a special interest in mind...but he needs to understand that the UFC can actually help boxing....it is bringing in new and younger audiences to "combat sports" what Bob should do is spend his time figuring out how to harness this new "crowd" with his product...instead of sounding like an old out of toon JACK ASS...It's basic business management....the customers and money is out there....he needs to reach out and get it...

Maybe it's just a sign that he no longer has the business savvy to flourish in his sport....maybe it's just a sing that we are leaving his old as behind....but the sport of boxing WILL NEVER DIE!!!!!
