Comments Thread For: Charlo-Castano: WBO To Conditionally Approve Undisputed Championship Rematch

One less hurdle remains in the path of a rematch to crown an undisputed junior middleweight champion. Lineal/WBC/WBA/IBF champion Jermell Charlo and WBO titlist Brian Castano were provided the opportunity to produce a single divisional king, only to fight to a twelve-round, split decision draw this past July at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. The Showtime-televised championships affair came with the blessing of all four sanctioning bodies, though with the threat of two mandatory challenges looming ahead.

Castano already 1-0 vs Charlo, lets hope the judges don't accept the Haymon pay off this time and actually get it right.

Castano should be 19-0-0 instead of 17-0-2. He beat Lara by a slim margin and he beat Charlo 8-4, clean.

Hopefully he gets a fair shake this time.

Also, this article is wrong. Charlo is the Ring Magazine champion, but not the lineal champion. He is not recognized as lineal by TBRB, CBZ, or ESPN.

Charlo vs Castano II is for the vacant lineal title.

Idk what people claim to have seen,
but Charlo had just as many moments as the Argentine,

It wasn't even close, dude. It was an 8-4 fight. Charlo probably got robbed against Tony Harrison the first time but there is no argument for a draw in the Castano fight. It was a shameful decision.

That's good news. Tszyu would benefit from another fight , Harrison would be ideal, Trout wouldn't be bad.

Murtazaliev has no business being in against top guys, despite what the IBF says.

Let's hope the rematch gets made, the sooner the better.

Castano won the first fight, Charlo got a gift.

It was a close fight, had Castano up by one or two points but I'm glad they are demanding for the rematch instead of each guy going their separate ways. Castano is a humble dude, met him at the Rigondeaux fight he made it a priority to talk to the people. Can't wait for this fight again
