  • Yeah, he wants to make history, that's his prerogative. But naturally a lot of people will be very disappointed in this. Look at Ilunga's dimensions: 6 foot, 74 inch reach, 34 years. Hasn't fought since 2020. I think this type of move will turn a lot of people off Canelo at least in the short term. People know who they want to see him fight.

Can you imagine Floyd giving an opponent the ring size he wanted?? Hahahahaha Floyd would suck them off before doing that.
      Floyd is laughing at CanDuck-eo

Only fools praise all of this cherrypicking.
Canelo and his people are taking you all for a ride with all of these fixed fights. Usyk won't sell himself.
I think Canelo ***** slaps Usyk and makes him retreat away with his ghay rave dance moves. Lol

        • Wow this would be an great fight. Makabu is incredibly powerful & would pose more than a threat to canelo. Anyone calling this a cherry pick knows **** all about boxing. Just because you've never heard of Makabu or have not watched him fight, does not mean he's a trash opponent.

          • Impressive challenge. I don't think this is a situation of either/or. Canelo can be taking on great challenges and seeking out winnable fights. He was a junior middleweight not too long ago, fighting almost any 200lb title holder is a serious challenge. Would Breidis or Okolie be a bigger threat? Probably, but Makabu is still a solid champ (and 200lbs!). As good as ODLH was, we all saw how he performed at 160 against Felix Sturm. Moving up in weight classes to face other champions is no easy thing. I've seen posters say 168 was a weak weight class, it probably was but Canelo still unified it when nobody else did.

You point me to any potential opponent for Canelo and an argument could be made why someone else is a tougher challenge.

Ward is no draw. Ward coming off a layoff does nothing for Canelo. He wouldn't deserve a fight with the top dog. He brings boring and ugly foul filled fights. He needs to stay retired.

you act like Canelo Hasn't always been a stocky natural mw who hadn't matured yet despite already being a p4p even at that age(he was still growing in boxing terms which is much different to normal aging, let alone for a genuine prodigy many of us have been saying all along he would develop into.

When fighters who started out very young as pros grow, they tend to move up greatly, the only difference with Canelo is hes able to move up & down because hes more disciplined/all around more well-rounded than 99%,& hes able to gain a bunch too because he has to rehydrate after weigh ins anyways.

(& Hes short af which allows him to pick a weight anywhere between 160-185 these days) Common sense really
I'd like to agree with you but the fact that he and at least another 3 Eddy Reynoso trained fighters have all failed PED tests I've got serious doubts to be honest.
