That’s how it goes when you’re a big star And rated at the top

It was the same with Floyd, he could beat fighters that would be considered an excellent win for anyone else but still get no credit. Canelo is in that boat now.

If he beat Beterbiev, he’s old. If he beats Bivol, well Bivol has looked flat in his last few fights. If he beats Benavidez, well he hasn’t fought anyone except Dirrell etc.

That’s just how it’s going to be now. No win is ever going to be good enough anymore, like it was with Floyd.

I give him no chance against Canelo but I think he’ll put up a valiant effort and win some rounds early on in a fun bout. He’s the last guy in the division for Canelo to fully clean it out but it’s not saying much as no guy there was truly proven.

I didn’t see anything special. He’d be wide open for body shots and Canelo’s footwork would allow him to get inside pretty easily.
Hes taller than Canelo but not much bigger.
I think Canelo folds him with a body shot.

That’s how I see it too, Canelo chops him down. He’s tough though so he might hang around there all 12 and take a beating like Smith.

So yeah, stopping a 2X titlist for the first time to win his belt is impressive. What's not so impressive is losing title a on the scales, then losing it a second time for a suspension, and never fighting anybody else good.
I havent watched him since he fought Gavril and he looked Dog sh*it. So i cant comment on how good he is now but if he hasnt improved since then, the likes of Saunders and Callum smith beat him

I dunno man, when you actually contextualise that win, Dirrell had just gotten a very disputable decision over Yildirim. Then in his next fight got a disputable draw with Kyrone Davis.

I don’t put much weight into that Dirrell win whatsoever if I’m honest.

Same here.. all he has over Canelo is size but so did Plant, Smith, Kovalev etc and we all saw what happened there.

Yeah, I do rate Benavidez. He has some flaws but he has quick hands, developing a good jab, is a big SMW, good work rate and good power. That's not an easy guy to beat. He's going to make Canelo work and won't let him control the pace of the fight as he's become accustomed to do so.

He’ll try and come forward, but I just think he’ll get picked off. I don’t really see anything in Benavidez that will trouble Canelo tbh.
