He should skip LHW and Cruiserweight and go straight for Mauricio's Bridgerweight title. First Mexican Bridgerweigtht Huichol beltholder will be a nice feather in his cap.

there are only 2 fighters on this earth who could give nelo any problems, tyson fury (too big) & GRJ (too small)

I agree with Bhop canelo if wanted would clean out 175 and it wouldn’t be that tough. CW is a real stretch though.

I don’t recall, ever… having a fighter that started his career at welterweight being potentially lined up to fight and be competitive at cruiser/heavyweight, and not be bs’n about it… like, boxing people the ones that know the sport like Bhop in this case… really think canelo can compete at cruiser!!! That’s mind boggling and says a lot about canelos greatness

People always want the best fighters to continue to move up in weight, they will even want a guy that starts out at strawweight to move to heavyweight. At some point you have to sit in one division, common sense

The way I see it now there are a few choices:

Canelo fights GGG/Ward in May. After that he goes to 175 in September - and possibly takes Bivol at a catchweight since Bivol has stated numerous times he'd accept such a fight.

Potentially a December fight versus Smith

Or following May September Smith and Beterbiev

Unifying two weight classes has never been done before and would surely put Canelo in the Top 25 EVER. Which is pretty crazy if you think about it

I saw Canelo struggling ( he said himself it was a tough fight and he was getting frustrated) with a guy whose best wins are uzy and truax. Now all of a sudden he.beats everybody but Fury and Usyk ROFL
I don't know if he beats Benavidez and Charlo to begin with. I know for sure they are better fighters than the BJS, Fieldings and Yildrims of the World, and they have much more experience than Plant who is a talented cat no doubt.

The last 2 times Nelo fought someone elite, GGG, he arguably lost then grabbed a razor thin decision.

Canelo is great but people getting fooled a bit with his 168 campain.

He has to prove that in the ring

To me 100% the most intriguing fight is with Beterbiev. The rest are the same type of fight over and over. This guy is a different animal and it would be very interesting to see Canelo fight him.

Yeah, based on objective achievements (not popularity or legend), unifying two weight classes would put him at LEAST within the TOP 25 ever.
