Canelo used to be a counter-puncher, but he was so good at it that almost all his opponents refused to engage, so he changed his style to be more aggressive. There's a reason all these world champions don't open up vs Canelo, Benavidez will get a first round concussion if he tries to beat Canelo with volume.

Canelo is a great counter puncher , who can also hunt you down. That is why.

Canelo is all wrong for Benevidez. It's not a competitive fight right now. But unless Charlo goes to 168, it's the only fight out there right now. Beterbiev and Bivol ar probably on deck at 175.

I'd like to see his next 4 fights as Benevidez, GGG, Beterbiev, Bivol. He runs that gauntlet then he will have to wait for other opponents to develop into challenges.

Canelo has always loved aggressive plodders with no defense like Angulo and Kirkland. It's when he truly gets to be a counter puncher and throw his combinations.

It's like...you just don't get it.

Canelo...breaks you down. He attacks your body, your arms, your shoulders, your kidneys...he knows he won't get you out of there early, but he's going to make you hurt by Round 6.

When you take that many shots to the various points, you will no longer have a "long, strong jab". It will become a range finger, weak.

You will no longer be able to do a "high volume of punches" because you're tired.

Canelo doesn't have "awful stamina", given he's now taken out both Smith and Plant in or near Round 12.
