No. Expect to see no meaningful fights from 160-175 until may
Canelo out until May. Will his potential rivals take a risk in the meantime?

Well who else was he supposed to fight? Canelo wanted to be undisputed at 168 and they were the other champions.
Are the 175 lb champions any more impressive? Or do you just want Canelo to put himself at a disadvantage to prove a point?Comment

Canelo’s giving them until February to separate themselves from the pack. Benavidez and Charlo seem to have the inside track if he’s stays at 168. If one of them can defeat a Danny Jacobs or Anthony Dirrell before February, they’ll be the front runner for the fight.Comment

Kudos to Alvarez, you can't fault the guy for wanting to be undisputed champ even if the division aint that strong at the moment.Comment

Charlo/Benevidez should have to beat a live body not to earn the fight but to actually make it worth it for Canelo.(Canelo likes winning accolades by beating guys who will cement his legacy the most,Charlo/Benevidez might well be next anyways but they will be brushed off as another overrated stiff if Canelo beats him)
I don't think any of those fights a live body though (hope I'm wrong)

It's hard to get guys to fight each other, but that problem isn't really a problem for Canelo. He can pay guys what they want/need. Easier to unify.
I agree though that all these contenders should be mixing it up some. It's not fair for Canelo to theoretically have to fight all these guys himself. They should all be mixing it up with the winners ideally getting a shot.Comment

i mean, they had the title belts and he wanted all the belts...he unified at 160,won a title at 175 and is now undisputed at 168..how can anyone knock that..what is everyone else around that weight doing since its so easy?Comment

The answer to your question is no. His potential opponents won't take a risk in the meantime. Will Jermall Charlo fight someone better than Juan Macias Montiel?
How about Bivol, will he fight Zurdo at least? Or is he going to give the fans that thrilling John Ryder showdown instead?
Can Demetrius Andrade get in the ring with someone better than Jason Quigley?
The only one I see in an interesting fight is Beterbiev against Marcus Browne.Comment
