When was the right time for mayweather and canelo to fight?

Floyd Mayweather was not even at his best, and he still beat Canelo Alvarez 12-0 to 12-1 etc.
That performance was Mayweather's last great performance, after this fight he vividly started to erode.
I also don't really think Alvarez has evolved since then, at the level people try and make out. Alvarez has put some weight on, and is fighting bigger fighters who 'Are not as good as his former competition'.
James Toney when he moved up to heavyweight, used to continually remind people 'I have faced better fighters than all of these heavyweights, and that is why I am able to be here at heavyweight and compete' Toney was even able to compete at heavyweight out of condition.
At the time when Alvarez fought Mayweather, I specifically remember plenty of inside experts within boxing picking Alvarez to win. They all thought that Alvarez's skill level was comparable to Mayweather's, and physically he was just too strong.
It become clear in the fight that Alvarez skill level, was good but a level below Mayweather. And that has been clear ever since, that fight.
Alvarez drops rounds all of the time, Amir Khan was out boxing him, Caleb Planet was right there with him, Liam Smith was giving it a good go. Very rarely could very few fighters make Mayweather drop continuous rounds 'It was only at the end of his career, when physically he was starting to struggle where some fighters able to take rounds off him'.
Before that only the super elite fighters made it difficult for him, fighters like Oscar De La Hoya.
Fighters who are not all time greats are making things difficult for Canelo Alvarez, skill wise he did not look level's apart from Caleb Plant.
Caleb Planet would of been stopped by Carl Froch & Joe Calzage. Is Caleb Plant better than a peak Mikkel Kessler? I don't think so. I could name many other fighters who would all beat Alvarez's recent competition, maybe even in better fashion.
Overall, Canelo Alvarez is a great fighter 'Fighting in a below par era'.
Canelo Alvarez is the best Middle Weight, but not by miles. Sooner of later, I can see somebody with genuine Super Middle-Weight strength and the right game plan 'Beating Canelo Alvarez'.Last edited by PRINCEKOOL; 11-08-2021, 09:16 AM.GrandpaBernard likes this.

Canelo has been a different fighter since GGG 1. He started to realize he could take GGG's shots, and has been more fearless. Saying the guy who fought Floyd at 152 is the same guy who fought Plant at 168 is fu.cking dumb man.
You fanboys are fuc.king embarrassing. No logic, just anything to prop up your man crushes.

The right time to fight? Well it's up to Floyd when he thinks it's time to fight depending how much credit he wants. Floyd could fight nelo now and it would be the best time for Floyd to fight nelo if credit is what Floyd wants

I have to hand it to you, you’re like the Skip Bayless of all Floyd’s critics on here. Salute.
