  • When was the right time for mayweather and canelo to fight?

1st off I just want to say canelo is hands down the best fighter in the world right now and is definitely going down in history as one of the greats.

Canelo has definitely improved since his fight against mayweather but it’s unfair to say that Floyd deliberately got him when he was too inexperienced. Canelo was 23 and mayweather was 36 I believe. Floyd was no spring chicken and people have been saying before that fight that he lost his legs in the mosley fight.

to the people that like to discredit floyds win over Canelo what would be the appropriate time for that fight to take place?

the great older guy beat the very good younger guy easily, so there was no other time to fight really

My thing is when I get into debates about mayweather vs canelo they keeps saying Floyd cherry picked him early but when I ask what was the appropriate time for them to fight then it gets silent.

some nelo fans might argue nelo only entered his prime from ggg II onwards at 160 up so u cant really argue with that one

Floyd and Canelo fought at the perfect time. If Floyd fought anybody else after Guerrero, he would have been crucified.

One fan on YT just stated that Floyd was in his peak physical prime at 36 when he fought Canelo, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I don’t really care if people discredit that fight, I mean it’s Floyd Mayweather, there will always boxers and their fan base who will have permanent mental resentment towards him for what he did to them in the ring, etc. Canelo is the king of boxing now and that’s how it is. He’s moved on to greater and better things. The fight happened at the only time it could’ve happened.

The King back then was at the end of his reign, and Canelo was just about to enter his prime and looking to takeover the reign, but he just miscalculated his abilities and just missed the shot. If we could build a time machine and clone athletes at their absolute peak, then that’s the only way we could make these fantasy fights come to light.

they were both near enough in their prime. this crap about canelo getting miles better is absolute bull****, hes probably improved a little with experience but hes still the same guy. there wasnt any talk from him about being inexperienced before hand. fact is hes going to look a hell of a lot better against fighters like yildirim and rocky fielding than a floyd mayweather. he got made to look an amateur against mayweather because they arent on the same level

Would being prime have really helped Alvarez

                    Floyd didn’t just beat him

Floyd didn’t allow him to win a single round

To me this spells stylistic nightmare

Alvarez didn’t make it tough like Cotto

Nothing to suggest the outcome would be different if this guy had a bit more experience
