Was it a gamble or it's a fight that was forced upon him?
And with Espinoza being a lapdog is once again taking the financial risk.
Just like in the Wilder case.

Can't wait to see Stephen pull another "Wilder/Ortiz 2 didn't make sense to us."

If canelo is getting 40 mil and the Ppv doesn’t do a mil buys, it’s a bust. I think this Ppv will only do in the 600k range.

"The 31-year-old Alvarez has made it clear that he prefers Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs), the unbeaten WBC middleweight champ, over Benavidez if he tops Plant and returns to PBC."

OK then, let's make it happen!!!

I was thinking the PPV would need to do around 600k buys to break even but only slightly above 500k buys means they expect close to half of the buys to be digital buys. Not that surprising I guess, especially with the 15-20M gate.

Canelo will be back on PBC, but it just may not be next. He's going to go to whatever network to make whatever fight he wants to make. Good for him, playing it how he should play it with his star power and leverage.

Yep, I see that happening as well. Based on recent form, Canelo wins however

I think his move off accessible cable networks to an app no one had really hurt his brand. He’s just fallen out off the radar of the typical American sports fan. I would be surprised if he ever did numbers again that he had on hbo both regular or PPV

Watching all boxing costs something.... it's either internet to find a free stream, cable which costs monthly, subscription fees or PPV. Some people on here are just negative as hell and too sensitive to talk about a mans sport IMO. Give em hell bro!

He said "pushing boxing in the USA"....Hearn fish eyes and whomever Mick is aint doing shyte for pushing boxing in the USA...only Al Bob and to a lesser extent Oscar are doing that. Sorry to inform you but DAZN failed in the USA. I've been telling you guys this for 3 years that it wasn't going to work. They are down to their last few gimmick fights. Mungia vs journeyman and Teo will be back on TR after this fight. There will be no Devin v Teo on DAZN. Hopefully when GBP's contract ends next month he will get back to Showtime and boxing will blow up from there.

It's funny how people don't like corporatists when their skin is melanated!

Most likely, but I want to see it! I think Charlo is more athletic, and stronger than Plant!
