Highly disputed fights with GGG? The first fight GGG clearly won and the 2nd fight was a good one for ginger. i think GGG did enough to win the 2nd one. Plant won't be able to hurt Alvarez so the judges will give it to him no matter what.

Canelo went to 168 to fight a weak division full of soft british boxers , he dipped his toe into 175 only once, just to get a belt from Old has-been Kovalev.
He obviously can compete in 175, but knows thats where the azz whooping happens, so he stays in a shades of 168 taking on cherries like Plant, Soft Smith Brothers and Turkish cab drivers.
Canelo has to get a belt from a live dog at 175 - he a big boy now...Comment

We can blame the alphabet soups organizations. If they have a better ranking and enforce their mandatories, instead of taking money under the table to rank underserved fighters. We could get much better fights. The rankings should be by merits, not by bribes. Be safe.I'm not quite sure if I like the phenomenon of a fighting 'lottery'. Before Canelo it was Mayweather, before that Tyson, and so on.
Does it devalue the already 1000 different rubbish belts we have? Does it encourage the best to fight the best?
I don't think so. There are too many fights to list that should've, could've, would've.
fighters hanging on to one belt until they reach their mid 30's then cash out. Like Bivol.
Can't really blame the fighters as that's the system they live and breathe in. Can't blame the promoters, Can't blame the sanctioning bodies, who is to blame?
Do we go right back to whoever invented market capitalism and consumerism? Right back to the Medici's and the Borgia's? Milton Friedman, Ronald 'let the bull run free' Reagan?
Adam Smith?
All I know is the system that governs boxing is corrupt to its core. and that's a fact.Comment

Canelo doesn't need to move up. If his best weight is 168, then he should fight where he is best. Why should he fight at a weight where he is not his best? To show what he is like when suboptimal? Its akin to asking someone to fight with physical restraints (if he was really good he would fight with a hand tied behind his back to prove it). Lets just let fighters fight where they are at their relative best, and we can use our eyes to evaluate that; lest we call on every fighter to move up to heavyweight to catch a whooping.Comment

Alavarez shouldn’t even be a top 20 best boxers ever period. No fighter with a failed test or suspension should. I say that as a former Roy jones fan. I don’t care how or why he failed, he failed. Unless y’all can show me proof he’s never taken anything before, which you can’t he should be treated like every fighter to pop dirty. That’s my opinion, his fans can foam rabidly all they want. If this was any other fighter y’all wouldn’t stfu about it. Same way Marciano fans can suck it, man used plaster of Paris. You are accountable for what’s in your blood.
