Score from the outside, be patient and don't, under any circumstances, lead with a hook.

Hes got to learn to put his noggin down! Bad habit especially against a counter puncher as good as Canelo. He needs to take inventory of all those little foibles.

Caleb has to realize a couple of things: Hes a nice size for the weight... so while Canelo has power, I think he has more resistance than a lot of people think.. he has to assume so if he wants to win this... He has to be ready at times to chance it... He should try to taste canelo's power towards the middle rounds if he has not already.

Hes got to establish timing. Make Canelo move when C establishes a pocket... at least make him miss. Go at Canelo when he is adjusting the pocket. Thats his opportunity.

hes got to practice and use weird angles... Enter at a 45 degree angle. Make it ackward for Canelo to counter him. Always try to end up on Canelo's side inside, and when in front, he has to profile Canelo so he does not get upercutted... This is a real danger given his relative height to Canelo.

He has to have a game plan where he gets more confident as he survives... Eventually later in the fight when Canelo is more worn, mix it up at those weird angles.

Crucial Element: He has got to get out of there when he catches Saul... GOT TO! Ward could teach him this... Ward was great at it.

So, lets say all these things, or enough of them are done... we are into the championship rounds... Caleb has to sit down on his shots more. He has to risk getting caught and if he can take Canelo's power, he has to push forward on exchanges pushing Saul the red headed slugger onto his back triangle point... Like Holyfield did to Tyson. Push where we have no "third leg" instead of backing off. Make Saul have to punch off balance.

Those are the things I think he has to do to win. and if he does them? he could win imo.

        1) Commit the jab. Canelo has issues with jabs that are committed. It seems to disrupts his timing. Since GGG2, his opponents have been too weary of putting out a jab with intentions(fear of getting countered) or aren't good jabbers in general.
        2) Push Canelo back. Canelo has become a beast coming forward BUT he's compromised it for not being comfortable fighting on the backfoot. Since 2018, everyone has been unsuccessful at pushing him back(too weary of his power). But if Caleb, somehow, has a good enough chin to not be afraid and push Canelo back...he has a chance.
        3) Make it messy on the inside, use range on the outside, use lots of movement, avoid midrange and under no circumstance get pressured to the ropes
        4) Take advantage of Canelo's reset period. After he unloads his offense, he has a habit of getting back to counter puncher position. Caleb needs get on him ASAP after he unloads and get out ASAP. Golovkin and Kovalev had success with the first part BUT weren't quick enough on their feet for the second part
We have similar ideas, you know what they say: great minds are in the same gutter!

Good post. Actual analysis has been rare on here when it comes to this fight.
